Morning Offering given

Village filled with thunder, lightning, and rain.

Woke with a pounding headache. Legs are puffy with fluid, and feet feeling like little fat sausages. The man went to adoration & Mass alone.  I won’t be going anywhere but the bathroom & recliner.  Leg compression sleeves have completed the first session.  Will be doing this all day until the excess fluid is under control. Feet slathered in castor oil, & compression booties are on. Will need to wander out to the office area and spend some time in the vibration plate at least twice today.

Perhaps time on the front porch writing letters or reading will come into play as well.

Birthday greetings to VDF Sharla! Have an awesome day.

Lovely evening with P&T.

Saturday has arrived
Housekeeping details need to be worked on
Officekeeping details need to be worked on
Correspondence in need of replies
Birthday calendar needs checking
Gosh I have been so lax and inattentive
Somedays I just feel overwhelmed and bombarded
In retrospect… more spiritual warfare

Can we talk about that? Spiritual Warfare…

Defined:
Spiritual warfare refers to the conflict between the forces of good and evil in the spiritual realm, where Christians contend against Satan, demons, and other spiritual powers seeking to influence human hearts and actions (Ephesians 6:12)

It is not a physical battle but a spiritual struggle that manifests in temptations, doubts, and moral challenges. The Bible describes this warfare as a fight against “rulers, authorities, powers over this present darkness, and spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places” (Ephesians 6:12)

Internal Struggle: Christians experience an ongoing battle within themselves between sinful tendencies and the guidance of the Holy Spirit, striving to live righteously (Romans 7:21-23)

Spiritual warfare also involves resisting false teachings, deception, and influences that oppose God’s truth (2 Corinthians 10:3-5)

The conflict extends beyond human interactions, involving unseen spiritual entities and the broader struggle between God’s kingdom and the forces of darkness (Genesis 3:1-7; Isaiah 14:12-15)

•Practices and Tools
Christians are encouraged to equip themselves with spiritual armor and practices to stand firm against evil:

•Prayer and Fasting:
Communicating with God and seeking His strength to resist temptation

•Scripture Study:
Using the Word of God as a guide and defense against deception

•Faith and Righteousness:
Living according to God’s principles and submitting to His authority (James 4:7)

•Other traditions include exorcism, anointing with oil, and laying on of hands as part of spiritual warfare

The ultimate goal of spiritual warfare is to maintain faith, resist sin, and align one’s life with God’s will. While Christians may face persistent temptations or spiritual attacks, the victory is assured through Christ, who overcame evil through His death and resurrection (1 Corinthians 15:57) Spiritual warfare is thus both a personal and cosmic struggle, emphasizing vigilance, prayer, and reliance on God’s power to overcome evil.

In the holy name of Jesus, I ask the Lord to bind and cast out any and all evil walls around my heart. I especially ask that the wall of ________ (name the kind of wall: unforgiveness, hardness of heart, stubbornness, unrepentance, coldness of heart, etc.) be cast out. I reject it; I rebuke it; and I renounce it. I ask for God’s forgiveness for any sins of mine which contributed to this wall. I ask that the Blood of Jesus wash over my heart, cleansing, purifying and sanctifying. As the Scriptures say: “I will give you a new heart and place a new spirit within you, taking from your bodies your stony hearts and giving you natural hearts.” May I have the heart of Jesus. (SMC)

In the Holy Name of Jesus, and through the power of His precious blood, I ask Almighty God to bind each and every demon coming against me (or my family) or trying to affect me (us) in any way. In Jesus’ name may they be bound and cast out. I ask God to render them all deaf, dumb, blind and powerless. In Jesus name, may He make them incapable of tempting, tormenting, afflicting or harming me (us). I ask the Blessed Virgin Mary to spread her mantle of protection over me (us). I ask the Holy Angels to surround me (us), and with the sword of Truth, keep out the evil spirits. I ask the Blood of Jesus to wash over me (us) and protect me (us). May it wash over this place, making it a sacred space, free of all evil. (SMC)

O Jesus our Savior, my Lord and my God, my God and my all, with your sacrifice on the Cross you redeemed us and defeated the power of Satan. I beg you to deliver me from every evil presence and every evil influence.I ask you in your name, I ask you for the sake of your wounds, I ask you for the sake of your blood, I ask you for the sake of your Cross, I ask you through the intercession of Mary, Immaculate and Sorrowful. May the blood and the water that flow from your side wash over me to purify me, deliver me, heal me. Amen. (Fr. Gabriele Amorth)

August Queen of Heaven, Sovereign Mistress of the Angels, thou, who from the beginning hast received from God the power of the mission to crush the head of Satan, we humbly implore thee, to send thy holy legions so that under thy command and by thy power, they may drive the devils away, everywhere, fight them, subduing their boldness and thrust them down into the abyss. Who is like unto God? (Quis ut Deus?) O good and tender Mother, thou willst always be our love and our hope. O divine Mother, send Thy holy angels to defend me and drive far away from me the cruel enemy. Holy Angels and Archangels defend us, keep us. Amen. Indulgenced prayer. St. Pius X on 8 July 1908.

Lord Jesus Christ, I ask in Your Most Holy Name to remove any evil spirits that may be affecting my generational bloodline. If any curse or malefice has been introduced by a member of this family, or from outside the family, I ask that you cast it out and cleanse us with Your Most Precious Blood. I willingly forgive my ancestors or any others who are at fault and I ask you to absolve them of this sin and bless them. I repent of any evil that I have done to introduce evil into our generational line and ask for your forgiveness. I particularly pray that you would cleanse our generational bloodline of all curses, illnesses, sicknesses, addictions, financial curses, divorces, abuse, [here add any evil that persists in your generational bloodline] and all evils handed down through the generational line. May Your Precious Blood wash over us and cleanse us all. May these evils end now, through your infinite mercy and the power of your Holy Cross. (SMC)

St. Cajetan teaches us that we should all seek to live the simple, faithful, prayerful, helpful life of apostles. Holy Spirit, give me the courage and selflessness to live as a disciple of Christ.

Meditations for Each Day, pg. 314, Almsgiving. We need the mercy of God, and Our Lord has told us that He will be merciful only to those who show mercy to others. We need god’s forgiveness for all our sins, and the Holy Spirit assures us that our iniquities are redeemed by almsgiving. Daniel 4:24, Therefore, O king, may my advice be acceptable to you; atone for your sins by good deeds,* and for your misdeeds by kindness to the poor; then your contentment will be long lasting.”

Scripture Reading for Day 7 of Never Alone
Psalm 103:12 As far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our sins from us.
John 14:19-20 In a little while the world will no longer see me, but you will see me, because I live and you will live.m20 On that day you will realize that I am in my Father and you are in me and I in you.n

Happy 11th Birthday Liam F

The Transfiguration Jesus demonstrated that He was God’s chosen, the One known even by Moses and Elijah. Transfigured Jesus, I thank you for giving us all that we need to recognize you as God’s own son.

Meditations for Each Day, Antonio Cardinal Bacci (Nihil obstat: James F Rigney, censor librorum, John P. Sullvan, censor deputatus. Imprimatu: Francis Cardinal Spellman Archbishop of New York 19 October 1964),page 312, Riches and Poverty
Extravagance is always self-centered
Poverty is good in that it makes us detached from worldly things and helps us to think more about the next life.
It is true poverty will always be with us but destitution would disappear.
Destitution is really a social crime, for it is the result of human egoism and can breed hatred and spiritual degradation.
Poverty is decent. It does not dress in rags, its dwelling is tidy, healthy, and affords a welcome. It can have a change of linen once a week. It is not emaciated nor hungry. It is not good for anyone to live in easy circumstance; on the contrary, it is much better always to feel the goad of necessity.” writes Péguy in La guerre et la paix p. 338.
When Jesus blessed the poor and condemned the rich, he was referring to the poor man who has enough to supply his needs, is detached from worldly possession, uses his poverty to assist him in his journey towards Heaven, and is happy or at any rate content. When Jesus condemns the rich, its the rich man who squanders his wealth on selfish amusement and is deaf to the entreaties of those in need.

Scripture Reading for Day 6 of Never Alone
John 14:17-18 the Spirit of truth,* which the world cannot accept, because it neither sees nor knows it. But you know it, because it remains with you, and will be in you.l 18 I will not leave you orphans; I will come to you.*
Mark 11:25 When you stand to pray, forgive anyone against whom you have a grievance, so that your heavenly Father may in turn forgive you your transgressions.”k

The Flame of Love of the Immaculate Heart of Mary by Elizabeth Kindelmann (Imprimatu # 494-4/2009 from Cardianl Peter Erdo, Archbishop of Esztergom-Budapest and Primate of Hungary), page 161, Jesus: ” Do you know what makes the soul to live in truth? The continuous exercise of prayer and sacrifice. Without these, your souls are sick and will die.”

Divine Mercy in My Soul St Maria Faustina Kowalska (Nihil Obstate: Krakow April 17, 1979, Rev Ignatius Rozycki, Imprimatu: Krakow, April 18, 1979 ,Francis Macharski, Archbishop), page 43, Jesus: Write that by day and by night My gaze is fixed upon him (Fr. Sopocko) and I permit these adversities in order to increase his merit. I do not reward for good results but for the patience and hardship undergone for My sake.

Village peaceful and cool after a full day of gentle rain

The Seven Holy Macabees and St Eleazar We admire these holy men who were martyred for refusing to break the laws of God revealed to them by Moses. God, teach me to respect all men and women who suffer in order to stay loyal to you.

Scripture Readings for Day 1 of Never Alone
Romans 8:31-32 * What then shall we say to this? If God is for us, who can be against us?x 32 He who did not spare his own Son but handed him over for us all, how will he not also give us everything else along with him?y
1 Peter 2:24 He himself bore our sins in his body upon the cross, so that, free from sin, we might live for righteousness. By his wounds you have been healed.r
*NOTE* Romans is the 1st book in what is known as “The New Testament Letters” In all the letters of Paul to the Christians at Rome is the longest and most systematic unfolding of the apostle’s thought, expounding the gospel of god’s righteousness that saves all who believe. Written out of a specific situation from Greece, likely Corinth between AD 56 & 58

Meditations For Each Day, pg 305, The Awareness of the Presence of God
1) To preserve ourselves completely free from sin
2) To practice virtue in every possible way
3) To seek a closer and more loving contact with God
Cultivation of continual awareness of the presence of God is a particularly good way of subduing our passions and conquering temptation.

I’m hot but not as hot
I’ tired it seems all the time
This tells me I am in a funk
It is time to get out of that

The family is a mess
The extended family is a mess
The Church is a mess
and NO ONE wants to discuss the elephant in the room

There are too many narcissists in this world
The shame is they were created by our silence
It didn’t just happen it was a creation we fed
and continue to feed.

Our young adults haven’t a clue
and those in command want it that way
It is time
to change that

Vent over
