Again, chilly, fall is here… winter is coming.
Henry, my Godson, is doing a school fundraiser with his art. I’m loving it! They offer it as a magnet and I’m going to have quite a collection, I think.
Early morning run for me but breathing space between workshop drop off and pick up. Who knows the laundry may even get finished.
The Expedition will go in for maintenance on the 13th for a couple of days. The shudder just seems more pronounced, so we’ll replace the injectors, winterize, etc. This is the last SUV for me. When it is dead all my extra driving will end. Then I will find a nice roomy car and relax. Meanwhile, injectors are cheaper than a new car. The last thing I need is a car payment.
The man did adoration at Union Center this morning, he’s home now. I cannot tell you the peace we find in that chapel.

Grant, O Lord, that I may shed only such tears as are pleasing to You and that will help me to grow in Your love.
Mt. 5:5 “Blessed are they that mourn, for they shall be comforted” corresponds to the gift of knowledge. Blessed are they who, thoroughly enlightened by the Holy Spirit as to the nothingness of creatures, weep for the time they have spent seeking them, and mourn over the energy and affection they have wasted on the vanities of the world.

Fall has begun… the time where we gather up the fruits of our labor and store them away for the season of Winter. Taking note of what we have to keep us fed during the soon to come fallow time in our lives. It is the time where we see we may run short but have confidence of God providing us a way thru the fallow season. Perhaps by contemplating what we have planted in the Spring and nurtured during the growing time of Summer. We are all farmers in our spiritual lives. We all have to ready the ground of our hearts and minds, plant what is good for our growth in the Lord, tend it by weeding out the invasive thoughts and tendencies that grow if we fail to tend our hearts and minds during the Summer of our life. Shortly, we will begin the harvest keeping all that is good, throwing out all that is spoiled/rotten. Looking for any bruised or soon to go bad fruits, tending them before they turn during the winter which follows. This is the season in our lives that will help us rest in the Winter, so we have time to plan a new Spring.

Very often, when things are not going our way, we become restless and irritable. We want health, and instead we are sick. We long for success and high position, and instead we are forgotten and humiliated. we desire to be holy, and instead God humbles our pride and allows us to fall into sin again and again. we with that affairs in our immediate surroundings would proceed according to our liking, but in fact everything happens in an entirely different way. What is the remedy for the tension and annoyance which we experience on these occasions? There is only one; we must see God in all the events and circumstances of life and do His will lovingly and generously. _{(That’s quite a lot to take in when all I want is for the things I want to fall into place like I want them to be. And there in is the problem… I WANT… not what -GOD WANTS… I am still focused after all these years on me and how I want things. No wonder I am experiencing difficulties with this shallow faith of mine)}

Enjoyable afternoon yesterday. The man and I traveled a few miles to see Bathtub Springs. We’ve lived here for years without ever hearing of it. It’s a quirky little bend in the road where two spring come out of the mountain side spilling fresh, clean water in two old cast iron bathtubs. We also took a look at Monument Rock, on Hwy 27. Again, not stopping. There are so many little things to see so closely around us, and our eyes seem to be blind to them. I think perhaps it is time to open our eyes again to the wonder of nature and stop thinking we have to be in such a hurry.

Fall begins tomorrow evening. We passed thru Summer so very fast, failing to enjoy the things around us. We’ve stopped our trips to Iowa for a while. The price of fuel can be prohibitive at times when one is on a fixed income. Not to mention we have so many started and unfinished projects that seem to never get finished. 1) the kitchen floor, 2) the E upstairs bedroom ceiling, 3) the downstairs bedroom ceiling, 4) removal of pantry cabinet off the kitchen, 5) ceiling & walls in the stairwell. 6) the roof, 7) the backyard doors 8) the outside entry wall off the back entrance 9) the upstairs flooring, 10) painting the E & downstairs bedrooms as well as the stairwell. I’ll stop at 10 but there is so much more in the physical projects. I don’t even really want to start the list of paper things that need to be updated, changed, or replaced. The RV is waiting for the maybe buyer to make a decision. That would be a good start on the outside work to be put to sleep for the winter.

This week begins the slower weekly pace. Monday – Thursday only. No Fridays, Saturdays, or Sundays. Now if only we can keep to that. Do the days already on the books and say no to anything after that.

New Day dawning
New chance to begin again if you have faltered in your time with Christ
or for that matter any aspect of your life. I think sometimes we fail to remember WE CAN ALWAYS BEGIN AGAIN.
Life is not a once and done. Relationships are hard work. We have to keep reminding ourselves to look at the whole picture, evaluate our part in it, and if there are changes to be made, make those changes. If you are anything like me it is hard to admit that what you believed to be isn’t what it really is. Then the decision to change your thought process or walk away, or stick it out. What promises did you make? Who did you make them to? Where they made with full knowledge? Lots to think about. Regardless, know your part, acknowledge your part, change yourself or your presentation of your part in all of it. It will not be easy but you will not be alone.

Sometimes we allow our lives to become so busy we fail to see areas we need to shore up.
We fail to remember there is a season for everything.
