Birthday greetings to Nicole S. have an awesome day!
Today we remember Kimberly Fowler, who passed in 1995, may she rest in peace.

St Hugh of Grenoble reminds us that doing God’s work can sometimes be hard and tedious, requiring perseverance. Father, give me the fortitude to take on the work of faith-building even when it is less than exciting and requires deep and lasting effort. (I’ll be offering this prayer up for RT as she works at the Damascus Summer Camp this summer)

Meditations for Each Day, pg. 123, The Passion of Our Lord The Crucifix should have its place in the heart of every fervent Christian. At every moment in life, times of sadness and joy.

Scripture Reading, Day 1 in April, He is Risen!
Genesis 3:14-15 Then the LORD God said to the snake: Because you have done this, cursed are you among all the animals, tame or wild; On your belly you shall crawl, and dust you shall eat all the days of your life.* f 15 I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your offspring and hers; They will strike at your head, while you strike at their heel.* g
Romans 10:17 Thus faith comes from what is heard, and what is heard comes through the word of Christ.p

Went shopping and to lunch with Faye yesterday. Something we don’t do near enough. Enjoyed our time out perusing the shops in Coon Valley and eating lunch at ‘The Stockyard’.

Had a very enjoyable time at the Cashton Memorial Library yesterday, late afternoon, where I learned how to put together a signature of a junk journal. I met 3 other women whom I hadn’t known before. The instructor, Kathy Kuderer, did a great job teaching this less-than-artistic person to think outside the box. Many thanks to Jill, the librarian, for offering this program to the public at no charge. The knitting group was hard at it when I arrived. I’m thinking that would be another fun thing to work at. The library’s April event calendar is out. Be sure to get one.

Damascus Catholic Summer Camp, check it out.

Birthday greetings to my g’son AJ who is 22 today.

Bl. Joan (Jane) of Toulouse (distinct from Joan, Countess of Toulouse & St Jane Frances de Chantal) showed us that even when we have little to give, we must help those who are less fortunate than we are. Jesus, help me to stretch myself to be more generous to the poor and needy, even when it means I must do without.

Meditations for Each Day, pg. 119, Entertainment and Sport Christianity is the religion of real joy that comes from God

Scripture Reading Day 31 from The Way of the Cross
Rev 1:5-6 and from Jesus Christ, the faithful witness, the firstborn of the dead and ruler of the kings of the earth. To him who loves us and has freed us* from our sins by his blood,d 6 who has made us into a kingdom, priests for his God and Father, to him be glory and power forever [and ever]. Amen.e

Came across this article online (when I find the writer/owner, I will post it). Thought I’d pass the ponder on, it is something I’d never heard of previously.
There’s a strange detail in the Last Supper that most people never notice. Jesus stopped the Passover meal partway through.
And He didn’t finish it until the cross.
The Passover meal traditionally includes four cups of wine, each connected to God’s promises to Israel in the Book of Exodus 6:6–7.
The cups represent:
1️⃣ Sanctification — “I will bring you out.”
2️⃣ Deliverance — “I will rescue you.”
3️⃣ Redemption — “I will redeem you.”
4️⃣ Praise / Completion — “I will take you as My people.”
Now watch what Jesus does.
During the meal He lifts a cup and says:
“This cup is the new covenant in My blood.”
— Gospel of Luke 22:20
Luke specifically says this happened after supper, which corresponds to the third cup — the Cup of Redemption.
Jesus was declaring:
He is the redemption.
But then something strange happens. Jesus says:
“I will not drink again of the fruit of the vine until the kingdom of God comes.”—Gospel of Luke 22:18
He stops before the fourth cup.
The Passover meal is left unfinished.
Later, while hanging on the cross, Jesus is given sour wine.
Then He declares:
“It is finished.”— Gospel of John 19:30
The Passover Lamb had been sacrificed.
Redemption was complete. Jesus giving His life on the cross was the fulfillment of the Passover itself.

Good Morning!
today is my day off
I’m having lunch with a good friend
then off to the library to learn how to make a junk journal
I see them being made online and think they are cute…
Although I have no clue what someone does with one after they have made it.
I’m thinking it would be a fun way to remember a special event or trip
The SUV is in the shop getting new tires and a look over for our trip to Texas
I’d better get a move on lots to do before I have fun

Yesterday I forgot to say Happy 15th Birthday to my nephew Gerard.
I also forgot to remember the Anniversary of our 2 boys arriving in 1994. J & T it’s been good!
Today I pray for Adrian D Ulrich, who was baptized on this day in 2002… your Godmother still prays for you.

St John Climacus teaches us that silence, both in solitude and community, can indicate a heart devoted to God. God, when I am astounded by your majesty and creation, remind me that my silent gratitude is an acceptable expression and gift to you.

Scripture Reading Day 30 of The Way of The Cross
Revelation 14:4 These are they who were not defiled with women; they are virgins* and these are the ones who follow the Lamb wherever he goes. They have been ransomed as the firstfruits of the human race for God and the Lamb.c

Meditations for Each Day, pg. 118, The Presence of God. In times of temptation, it is especially necessary for us to place ourselves in the presence of God. We are courting disaster if we do not…

Morning…
Sleep was elusive.
Dawn came many times, only to be false.
The ceiling only needs trimwork now. I’m loving it!
Early but easy day ahead.
My schedule this week is fairly open, by choice.

Today I’m remembering Scott & Hazel P on their anniversary. May he rest in peace.

St Stephen Harding teaches us to always search for opportunities to reform and organize our lives around the truths of the Gospels. Jesus, your words tell me exactly how to live, open my heart and mind to embrace and form my life around them.

Scripture Reading for Day 28 of The Way of the Cross
1 Peter 2:24-25 He himself bore our sins in his body upon the cross, so that, free from sin, we might live for righteousness. By his wounds you have been healed.r 25 For you had gone astray like sheep,s but you have now returned to the shepherd and guardian of your souls.*

Meditations for Each Day, pg. 116 Conscience- the inner judgment of the soul which keeps us in full conformity with the law of God and the precepts of the Church by indicating the principes in accordance with which we should act from moment to moment. I sincerely wish I had a link to this book. Today’s devotion is so meaningful.

Good morning!
Am feeling much better today. Whatever was hovering left after I slept on and off most of the day.
I did get copy work done yesterday. The man took care of delivering them.
The ceiling is 3/4 finished. Hard to believe the difference it makes in that room. Will post photos when finished.
I’m in desperate need of a haircut. Perhaps I will wander west today and get that taken care of. The new phone is getting better to use. Still not comfortable with it and all the new little things it does. It’s almost as if the phone makers want to keep everyone busy figuring things out instead of actually living life.
Once again, I am reading Farmer Girl on FB. She has a gift with words.

Today my eldest son turned 46… Happy Birthday Mike!

Blessed Peregrine of Falerone was inspired by St Francis, we seek those who follow God to inspire us. Father send us people who will lead us closer to you. Help us to recognize and willingly learn from them.

Scripture Reading for Day 27 of the Way of the Cross
Hebrews 13:11-13 The bodies of the animals whose blood the high priest brings into the sanctuary as a sin offering are burned outside the camp.h 12 Therefore, Jesus also suffered outside the gate, to consecrate the people by his own blood.i 13 Let us then go to him outside the camp, bearing the reproach that he bore.

Meditations for Each Day, pg 114, The Human Soul You were made with ONE soul, two hands, two feet, two ears, to eyes… ONE soul… don’t lose it. God gave you free will; the salvation of your soul is the most necessary work you have to do.

I do not feel the greatest today. Low-grade headache with body aches. Hopefully all due to the horrid pace I have been setting this past week.

Today we say Happy Birthday to Julia A… Hope your day is awesome.
Today we remember Eldred Johnson, Lutheran minister, who passed in 2007. May he rest in peace.

St. Castulus teaches us how to use worldly powers we hold to promote faith and acts of Christianity.

Scripture Reading for Day 26 of The Way of the Cross
Hebrews 12:1-2 Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us rid ourselves of every burden and sin that clings to us* and persevere in running the race that lies before us 2 while keeping our eyes fixed on Jesus, the leader and perfecter of faith. For the sake of the joy that lay before him he endured the cross, despising its shame, and has taken his seat at the right of the throne of God.a

Morning
7 straight hours of sleep last night.
Very much needed after running to the midwife 8 times yesterday. Two new babies (different parents) I know of as yet… Naomi… 6# 15 oz, Esther… 7#6 oz… In the Amish community, these two girls will think of each other as twin. They will even refer to each other as my twin.
Between those runs, I took my special school girls to see a girl who is slowly dying from a genetic disease. They spent the morning visiting and singing.
The Catholic Young Girls group delivered my lunch yesterday; it was delicious, and I even received a flower bouquet. Today should be a piece of cake after yesterday.
Kitchen reno continues. All ceiling boards have been cut and stacked. Ready to be nailed in place in the next few days. I found the perfect ceiling fixture and may have to take the man back with me to see if it would work in there.
The forecast calls for rain today. Frankly, I hope that happens. We are so dry.
The new phone, I’m getting it finally. This new tech stuff is mind-boggling.

How are you?
Love to hear…

The Annunciation of the Lord
We venerate and love Mary because she bore Jesus, our Savior, and because she devoted her life to him. She taught us to conform our will to God’s will and to accept messages from God’s messengers.

Scripture Reading for Day 25 of The Way of the Cross
Hebrews 10:19-20 Therefore, brothers, since through the blood of Jesus we have confidence of entrance into the sanctuarym 20* by the new and living way he opened for us through the veil,n that is, his flesh, I suggest you finish the chapter, it holds great information regarding the false once saved always saved ideas.

St. Catherine of Sweden teaches us that a strong faith and prayer life begins in the family. Father, may my family better devote themselves to you through common prayer, action, contemplation, and service.

Meditations for Each Day, pg. 111, “The Power of God’s Love in the Christian Life.” Our Love of God should not be merely sentimental; it must be effective, it must be active. Therefore, we must avoid and detest sin, we must strive to become holy… this involves sacrifice and cultivating an intimate union.

Scripture Reading, Day 24 in The Way of the Cross
Hebrews 9:14 how much more will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal spirit* offered himself unblemished to God, cleanse our consciences from dead works to worship the living God.k

Morning
Chilly again this morning
Will be in Eau Claire today, shopping the thrift shops. Hope I don’t get home too late in the evening.
Got a different phone yesterday… have I mentioned how inconvenient it is learning a new phone? I waited long as possible but the hearing aides needed the updates that my old one couldn’t provide. Funny how phone companies get you in a position where you must purchase the new instead of providing an update for the old. Oh well, if this one lasts as long as the last one, it will be the last one I have to purchase.
