Good Morning!
The rain has abated for the moment. Thus far we are over 7″ in the past 2 days. Thunder and lightning rumbled through giving the earth a good shake. There is a possibility for more today. Widespread but not massive flooding. Rivers and creeks are just under the bridges, as yet none have breeched as far as I know. Farm fields are under water in areas as are some parks and trails. Here in the driftless this is normal and our ravines and natural spillways can attest to hundreds of years of this activity. One grows up knowing not to build in the areas that are obviously going to flood. Commonsense is the name of the game.
A friend and I were discussing the definition of “spending time with”. I consider it “making myself available by staying with, doing things together, chatting, calling, and other forms of communication, or simply just being together doing nothing. Totally different than thinking about someone. What’s your thought on this?
Today I see Tracy & Pene, take a previously postponed shopping trip, and take someone home at 6. I hope when I return the trim work in the kitchen area is finished. I have no clue when the floor will be laid but hopefully this weekend. Tomorrow, I need to get out of this whatever it is and get the dining room cleaned and in order along with the bathroom deep cleaned. Not my Idea of july 4 fun but necessary.
