Thoughts and Prayers go out to the Dorothy (Dottie) Durdon family. May she rest in peace.
Into my head, this morning came, “Where are the steering wheel covers?” Thus far 2 of them are missing from the wheels they were on. I have no clue where/when they got legs and left. Oh wait! Only 1 is missing the other was on the caddie, and probably still is. Gotta love this old mind of mine. Insignificant things just jump into it, flit through, and leave poof gone!
Pondering… 1 Peter 5:5-11 DR version
5 In like manner, ye young men, be subject to the ancients. And do you all insinuate humility one to another, for God resisteth the proud, but to the humble he giveth grace.6 Be you humbled therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in the time of visitation: 7 Casting all your care upon him, for he hath care of you. 8 Be sober and watch: because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, goeth about seeking whom he may devour. 9 Whom resist ye, strong in faith: knowing that the same affliction befalls your brethren who are in the world. 10 But the God of all grace, who hath called us into his eternal glory in Christ Jesus, after you have suffered a little, will himself perfect you, and confirm you, and establish you. 11 To him be glory and empire for ever and ever. Amen.
Eye exam went fine yesterday. Still, have 20/20 with a need for a touch stronger reader for reading. I can live with this considering my age and the eye issues I have had in the past. Dr. Nahas has been an excellent doctor, vigilant in his exams.
Must watch video… https://youtu.be/-JS7RIKSaCc?si=a6Jv44PN_k9u6_j8 This man is taking much flac for following his faith. Here in America where one cannot be persecuted for their faith under the Constitution; this man is being filleted in the media. It is time to take stock of what is happening here in America, our standards are beginning to crumble, and our freedoms are being relinquished each and every time we allow things like this persecution. Our media (except a few) are working propaganda machines. We are ushering in communist/Marxist ideologies by allowing these persecutions to happen. Soon we will be living as those in China do.
Mother of my half-sister began her journey into eternal life at 1140 AM.
May she rest in peace.
I was blest to know her.

Dorothy Ann (Dottie) Durdon was born in Cleveland, Ohio on September 18, 1940. When Dorothy was 4 years old, her father Anthony passed away. Her mother Theresa asked her sister Helen to move in and help raise Dorothy. Helen, who never married, took good care of little Dorothy Ann (and throughout her entire upbringing), as the homemaker of the household, while Dorothy’s mom was the breadwinner.
Due to a back injury from a Model T accident when she was younger, Dorothy’s mother needed to get away from Ohio’s cold and icy weather, so when Dorothy was 7 the family trio moved under doctor’s orders to California. Dorothy graduated from San Gabriel Mission High School and earned a 2-year Secretarial Degree at Mount San Antonio College. She then met Tom Grapensteter and they were married at All Souls Catholic Church on June 25, 1960.
California was growing fast, and Dorothy (who nicknamed herself Dottie) and her husband Tom grabbed their first-born Debra and sought out the wilds of western Montana. Tom wanted to work at the new Libby Dam, but it was still in the drafting stages, so they found their way to Missoula, Montana, where their second child Tommy was born in 1968.
Undeveloped land was being sub-divided up 6-Mile Road in Huson in the 1960’s, and they purchased 18 acres and would drive from Missoula and spend weekends on the property in a make-shift A-shaped plastic tent while preparing the land to build their home. In 1970 they moved to the property and their 3rd child David was born. Their 4th child Laura was born in 1973. Farm life was an adventure, adding a tool shed, chicken shed, goat shed, rabbit hutches and a huge vegetable garden. Fencing was added around the pasture for 3 horses (Gypsie, Jackson, Tamaresi aka Tammy and Tazamir aka Tazi) and 3 cows (Sunshine, Moonbeam and Starfire). Also on the farm were 3 dogs (Sean, Mandy and Sandy) and many cats (Smokey, Taffy, Bootsie, Smooch, Ripley, and all the feral cats). For several years there were 4-H sheep and pigs. Dottie tried her hand milking goats and made goat cheese, but soon found that was too much work. Her husband Tom purchased a tractor and haying equipment and they put up hay every year. Later a large deck was added to the house where potted flowers were grown, and humming birds frequented their feeders.
One time when good friends of the family were between houses, Dottie and Tom invited an entire family of 6 to stay with them in their modest Huson home. There were 4 adults and 8 kids, and one bathroom! Dottie continued to welcome friends to temporarily live in her home over the years, and if you just came to visit, you were always offered food and drink.
she put it, and after 83 years of “life on this beautiful earth,” on May 17, 2024 she was called to heaven from her home in Huson, Montana. It was a beautiful sunny morning with blue sky and white fluffy clouds to guide Dottie up to heaven. Throughout Dottie’s life, she remained positive with life’s challenges, and she embraced the beautiful earth that God created. Dottie’s last words written are “Aloha – God Bless You All.”

Ponder… Perfection of the interior and exterior life (domestic & social). You are not expected to achieve absolute perfection, but, you are OBLIGATED to strive towards it with the help of God’s grace. We have no option but to obey the precepts of the Gospel. We belong to God, therefore our thoughts and desires should be directed toward him.
Today is a home day, and for this I am grateful. Already it has been quite a busy week.
Got a card in the mail yesterday from some democrat I have never heard of “Jill Billings” (that in and of itself tells me she has not been effective). She wanted to know what I thought about others so I filled out her little card that really didn’t want my answers and will mail it back in today. There is not even one democrat that has contributed the past 4 years to anything but strife, dissension, and the spreading of sin. For that matter, I can think of only 2 republicans that held their belief of (the good of the nation), refused to lower their standards, and actually worked to make a difference. The rest of that mess in DC and Madison made fools of themselves under the guise of helping the state and nation to improve. Bunch of idiots busting with self importance while lining up their power. Worse yet, most of us let them go ahead and do it because its not bothering us in the here and now very much. We kept silent because we didn’t want to look bad or put a crimp in our style or heaven forbid give someone any kind of reason to make us look bad. We have failed. Failed to love our neighbor as ourselves. Failed to speak up when something was wrong/going wrong. Failed to stand up and point out something that was not good. We in many instances looked evil in the face and let someone convince us it was good. Shame on us.
Today’s Ponder: The majority of mankind has banished God from their public and private life. He is not wanted, He is not thought about, in fact, a few hate and curse Him.
This must be the new money-saving move by store owners.
Do I want a receipt? Heck YES! I want a receipt. Without it, there is no way to prove the merchandise isn’t stolen. Without it, there is no way to take a tax deduction. Without it, there is no way to count the items and make a comparison to the items I got home with. Without it, there is no way to make a return with cash refund.
HECK YES I WANT A RECEIPT... and you should want one too. Not to mention you should NEVER have to be asked if you want one. The store assumption should be that you do. Unless of course, they are going to refund without it or take your word for the purchase of it.
