Contrary to what isbeing said…

we are not all immigrants.

Immigrants are people who leave thier country to move to a new country. They enter thier new country by the front door. They learn the offical language of the country and learn the history and laws of the country they are moving into. Presenting themselves in person for various reasons and to become a citizen or a permanent resident.

Illegal aliens are people who sneak in or those who failed to leave when thier visas expired. Having no intent of becoming a citizen or assimilating.

Don’t swallow the lie. Just because your ancestors immigrated before you were born does not make you an immigrant if they were legal citizens.

This morning, Hamas released all of the hostages to Israel. PTL and thank you, President Trump, for working so hard to see this happen. Now to see all Palestinian prisoners released. We are still in the government shutdown, and federal employees are being let go. There’s more happening in the USA right now that is good and not being reported on. Hoping one day for the news media to become reporters again instead of hyperbole sellers. Early drive to Boscobel today. Jan will pick up the workers, and I will bring them home. My health, I live.

The man and I attend Adoration each Sunday morning at 5:00 a.m. in the Union Center Chapel. I find it to be just the right thing to do before I start Sunday morning. This past week I put together pages of the Scriptural Rosary, using a different color for each mystery. I laminated each page as well. I am now giving thought to doing the US Rosary.

Have an awesome, productive day.

Bit of a chill in the air here in the Wilds. Fall color is continuing to emerge, and fall rain has also begun. It won’t be long before the porch is winterized. This week, I will begin to cull the summer clothing from the closet. Fall and winter clothing selections are dismal. I may just have to get out the sewing machine and do up some of the fabric I have sitting here.

I miss my friend Val today. Over the weekend, I met her husband’s new friend, Debra. She looked so much like Val in her younger years that she could have been a sister. It was shocking enough to hear he had a new friend so soon after Val passed, but even more shocking now that I’ve seen her. Her personality is nothing like Val’s, but a very pleasant woman to speak with. I’m quite certain she felt uncomfortable at the reception, and that was understandable.

Ebony’s collar and leash arrived yesterday. She is not impressed. She made that known.

RIAY Day 279: The Joyful Mysteries

Morning! Another beautiful day is in the making; rain or shine, it will be just what we need. Fall colors continue to make themselves known. Corn and beans are being removed from the fields. Deer are running rampant across fields and roadways. Birds are heading south. Flowerbeds are beginning to shed their seeds, looking weary and faded. Fall is giving its last show before the earth shuts down to rest for the winter. I am looking forward to the fallow time. The time we use to take stock in the seasons that have just passed and make plans for the season that will greet us again. The time to slow down, rest, recoup, reenergize, and repair our heart, mind, and body. A time to lie fallow, soaking in all that you can, from the giver of nourishment. We humans have a tendency to turn our attention away from what our body/mind needs to simply keep running. We exhaust ourselves into oblivion, failing to recognize that the difficulties we are experiencing are due to our failing to take care and replenish ourselves. I recall being told as a child, “Idle hands are the devil’s workshop.” As an adult, I looked for this verse but only found it in Bibles that had been translated into everyday language. Most often, Proverbs 16:26-29 is cited. However, in the translation of scripture I use (DRA/NAB), it cites Proverbs 16:26 as saying “The appetite of workers works for them, for their mouths urge them on.” The resource “bible gateway” search engine sticks on the living bible translation when you query the DRA or NAB, so be sure to click on the link for the right scripture version. Of course, this now makes me wonder what other verses the engine sticks to. So, I suggest that if you are Catholic (or not), use the quote from the USCCB bible search engine. THUS far, there cannot be found “idle hands are the devil’s workshop,” so my advice to you is use the fallow time to replenish and renew your soul.

Yesterday’s wedding was perfect! Simple attire and decorations all pointing towards the Mass. Nothing to distract from the sacrament. The reception was elegantly simple in decoration and food. Once again, focusing on the newly married couple. In my opinion, a perfect celebration. May God richly bless them. And may Mrs. Brown’s HUMUS RECIPE FIND ITS WAY INTO MY INBOX.

Today will definitely be a day of rest.
