The man made his entrance around 2am. He remembered to set up the coffee pot. Just one of the reasons I love him.

0415 phone call from OH for a neighbor 4 miles out.  The drive was breathtaking.  The inky black night sky is filled with twinkling stars.  It is unexpected moments like this that bring one to the realization our world was totally planned by God.

Ponder creation today.  https://bible.usccb.org/bible/genesis/1

The office is being moved today.

Please pray for those in Purgatory.  Sometimes, all it takes is just one prayer.

Please pray for all our canceled priests.  Send up extra prayers that Pope Francis has a lightbulb moment. His venture into darkness to bring light seems to becoming a dwelling place in darkness for him.

Isaiah 42:16 I will lead the blind on a way they do not know; by paths they do not know, I will guide them. I will turn darkness into light before them, and make crooked ways straight. These are my promises: I made them, I will not forsake them.

Cpap terrible dry mouth. Says I’m doing great. I am not. The machine lies.

I can see where people can get consumed with themselves having to keep track of all this junk.

IC will be flopping here over school break. Will be good to see her.

Easy drive day today. Will have good amount of time to clean out office.

Bacci is thought-provoking today, pg 468. “We also are often subjected to the tempests of life. Sometimes, these storms are purely interior, as when out lower impulses threaten to overcome our good resolutions and to submerge our purity of soul.

Monday has arrived. Thanksgiving week is here.

I.F… Week 6 Period 2

Busy morning ahead. Time to make this week’s to-do list.

Today, I remember the birthday of DMH. May she rest in peace.

Today’s ponder… Matthew 25:31-46… Bacci calls these verses the most terrifying verses in scripture.

31 When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, he will sit upon his glorious throne,

32 and all the nations will be assembled before him. And he will separate them one from another, as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats.

33 He will place the sheep on his right and the goats on his left.

34 Then the king will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father. Inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world.

35 For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, a stranger and you welcomed me,

36 naked and you clothed me, ill and you cared for me, in prison and you visited me.’

37Then the righteous will answer him and say, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you drink?

38 When did we see you a stranger and welcome you, or naked and clothe you?

39 When did we see you ill or in prison, and visit you?’

40 And the king will say to them in reply, ‘Amen, I say to you, whatever you did for one of these least brothers of mine, you did for me.’

41 Then he will say to those on his left, ‘Depart from me, you accursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels.

42  For I was hungry and you gave me no food, I was thirsty and you gave me no drink,

43a stranger and you gave me no welcome, naked and you gave me no clothing, ill and in prison, and you did not care for me.’

44 Then they will answer and say, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or ill or in prison, and not minister to your needs?’

45 He will answer them, ‘Amen, I say to you, what you did not do for one of these least ones, you did not do for me.’

46 And these will go off to eternal punishment, but the righteous to eternal life.”

Have a wonderful week.

Happy Birthday, HC!

Rosalind Carter died.

Cpap… dry mouth regardless

Intermittent Fasting… Week 6 Period 1… 532 hrs of fasting… down 10# and many inches.  Amazingly, I still am not finding this real difficult.  Joints feel better.  Still need to improve on water consumption and getting the steps in.

New office painting completed.  Counter top we picked up 10 yrs ago at auction will be perfect in size and color.   This just might come together yet.

Was good to see J and the new pup, Chopper.  What a laid-back puppy.

Plants have been water, dead leaves, and stems removed. They need more sunlight.

Today’s Devotion…“The Adoration of the Shepards”. My God, I offer thee my mind and heart,

Today’s Ponder… just as every Christian has a family, he has a parish… am I an active participant in both?

How’s the preparation for Thanksgiving coming along? Have you made your thankful list? Have you pondered it? Have you given thanks for the good and the bad?

I’ve been noticing this year that we have a tendency to go from holiday to holiday, always anticipating the next one before the last one has been completed. Living in the chaotic but ignoring the calm.

This year, try living in the present, enjoying what is before you.

5 days till Thanksgiving.

I like to take this time of year to reflect on the past year. We are fully retired but busier than when we worked full time. Our children are grown all living away. Some married, some not. Our grandchildren are no longer little. All attend school, some college, other working.

The world has changed. It is trending towards selfishness. Adults too busy, keeping their children too busy. Leaving little if anytime for service work in their church (if they even attend one) or community. Little if any entire family downtime.

The economy is inflated. Most scrambling to stay afloat. At least here in middle America.

Disposable is the norm, from products to friendships to community to family. That word seems to be an applied attitude when getting ahead is involved.

Boundrieless is another word that seems to have invaded the country. There doesn’t seem to be any set boundary on anything these days except not hurting someone’s feelings.

I am thankful I lived in a world with boundaries.

I am thankful for my husband, children, grandchildren, and friends.

I am thankful for my church and church family.

I am thankful for my health, stable finances, and my home.

I am thankful for the simple, self-sufficient lifestyle we live.

I am grateful to know Jesus who has watched over us and supplied everything we needed and protected us from things we didn’t and was there for us during the times we didn’t listen.

Friday has finally arrived

Need to look at tires, 275 65R18, expensive little things, I must say.

Ponder from Bacci: the greatest evil is the loss of God, and this inevitably follows the loss of grace and of the faith. We must safeguard our approach to life. Stay away from anything that might represent a near occasion of mortal sin. Avoid anything that is opposed to morals and the faith.

Time to face the world

Stomach feels better this morning. Thought it was flu yesterday, but today, I know it was something I ate the night before. Gall bladders or lack of them definitely react to grease.

Reflexology & chiropractic today.

Sending up & asking for prayers for Lavina. Cancer, having breathing issues this morning.

Intermittent Fasting continues week period 6. This is a slow weight loss program. Seldom do I feel hungry. I struggle with consuming enough water. I also struggle with getting enough activity. However, the weight continues to go down slowly but surely. The skin apron continues to thin. I wish it would leave the cushion on my behind but took that first. Sitting, not comfortable… hah, that’s so I walk more, right? Evil just evil.

Daily devotion… “The Shepards go to Bethlehem” Behold me, my God, most earnestly desirous of recollection myself in Thy presence; grant me the grace to understand the lessons Thou teaches, and to put them in practice. As fruit of these refections I resolve to follow unhesitatingly the prompting of grace, without giving time for other impressions to weaken my resolution and text me to draw back.

Anyone in need of these programs? New baby early AM… mom and baby fine.

Today, my mom would have celebrated her 90th.

Having difficulty getting motivated this morning. Hopefully, a shower will change ge that.

Today’s meditation ‘Gloria in Excelsis Deo’ St Luke 2:13-14. Grant me, my God, the grace of holy recollection, during this short meditation, that I may forget all else but thee alone. Hence forth I will endeavor to cultivate a day firm goodwill.

Must get moving before I fall asleep.
