O my God !
I offer Thee all my actions of this day
for the intentions and for the glory of the Sacred Heart of Jesus.
I desire to sanctify every beat of my heart, my every thought, my simplest works,
by uniting them to Its infinite merits ;
and I wish to make reparation for my sins
by casting them into the furnace of Its Merciful Love.
O my God!
I ask thee for myself and for those whom I hold dear,
the grace to fulfill perfectly Thy Holy Will,
to accept for love of Thee the joys and sorrows of this passing life,
so that we may one day be united together in Heaven for all Eternity
.Lord Jesus,
I unite myself to Your perpetual, unceasing, universal Sacrifice.
I offer myself to You every day of my life and every moment of every day,
according to Your most holy and adorable Will.
Since You have been the Victim of my salvation,
I wish to be the victim of Your love.
Accept my desire, take my offering, and graciously hear my prayer.

In the Catholic Tradition… The 6th Station of the Eucharist… “The Ark of the Covenant” 2 Chronicles 5&6. God gives Moses the law on Mt Sinai they were placed in a golden box (Ark of the Covenant) and housed in a tent while the Israelites wandered the desert. In every Catholic church, you will find the Tabernacle (Ark of the Covenant) where the Eucharist is placed if it has not all been consumed. If the body of Christ is present you will find a lit candle telling you Christ is present. Some refer to the Virgin Mary as the Ark of the New Covenant because she carried Christ within her.

Today St John the Baptist Catholic Church Summit Ridge will host their annual fundraiser “Strawberry Day”. All are invited to attend the dinner and enjoy the games. Looks like the weather is going to cooperate.

Each morning, the Israelites would go out and gather their daily portion of Manna. They did this for 40 yrs until they entered the promised land. Jesus explained in John 6 that even though they did this they died. He claimed he was the “Bread of Life” and if we ate the living bread we would not die. The Israelites said “What is This?” and today we say the same thing “What is This?”

I should be in the garage sorting and setting up but I do not want to wake the dog. Okay fine, it is a little bit that but I also don’t want to garage sale and I am procrastinating. It will happen today just give me a break. Hopefully, the children invited to come and peruse the items they may need will understand when they are no longer around for use.

Meanwhile, here on the porch, I am enjoying the coffee, the bird song, and the peacefulness of living in a small village in the wilds of Wisconsin.

The blood of the perfect lamb is spread on the doorposts and death passes over your house. The blood of Christ is shed for you and washes away your sins.

In telling you about the Station of the Eucharist, I hope you realize the scriptures are relevant even today. They are not just a story that gets passed down thru history. They are actual live events that are God-inspired writings giving you step-by-step instructions on what happened, what is happening, and what will happen. We in our humanness like to find reasons to continue our path of self-glory gorging ourselves to death on our vanity. God can and will lead us if we can only deny ourselves, listen, and follow. I fail miserably most days but continue on with hope that God will have mercy on me.

The search for a country rental is still on. The boy needs a place he can afford and still have his dog. Somewhere out there, an affordable rental is lurking that has space for a large dog to enjoy.

This morning,
as I kindle the fire upon my hearth,
I pray that the flame of God’s love may burn in my heart,
and the hearts of all I meet today.
I pray that no envy or anger, no hatred or fear,
may smother the flame.
I pray that indifference and apathy, contempt and pride,
may not pour like cold water on the fire.
Instead, may the spark of God’s love light the love in my heart,
that it may burn brightly throughout the day.
And may I warm those who are lonely,
whose hearts are cold and lifeless,
so that all may know the comfort of God’s love.

In the Catholic Tradition… The 3rd Station of the Eucharist… The Offering of Melchizedek… Gen 14:17-20, PS 110:4, Heb 6:20. Melchizedek was a priest of God Most High and King of Peace. Abram came to him after winning a battle. He gave Abram a blessing and brings an offering of bread & wine. There is a prophecy about the coming Messiah and later Melchizedek is referenced regarding his connection to Jesus. Jesus is not from the tribe of Levi; he is of the house of David. God sent His Son to offer His life for the sins of the World… thus he is a priest in the line of Melchizedek. He will offer the sacrifice of Himself on the cross. The night previous to his death he makes it accessible to us through a sacrifice and offering of bread and wine, in the pattern of Melchizedek.

Let us talk about premarital sex.

God created sexuality & marriage.
Intercourse is saved for the marriage bed.
Just because everyone is doing it
Does not make it right
Why would you have sex with someone
you are not willing to marry
No Catholic should allow this to happen in their home

Abraham, our father in faith, was promised a nation, was promised descendants as numerous as the stars. God tested him by asking him to sacrifice his only son. Out of obedience, he did just that… having his son carry the wood for the sacrifice up the mountain. Familiar story isn’t it? A clear foreshadowing of the sacrifice of Jesus on Calvary… A father, with his only son, who carried the wood, who was the sacrifice, had thorns on his head.
