Today we remember the birthday of Doug Bachman. May he rest in peace.

Gas prices keep raising. Groceries do too. If you factor in the cost of living today and what you receive as income you are making less than people did back in the 80’s. The dollars in your pocket are worth less than they were in the ’80’s. Your box of breakfast cereal costs more and contains less. Your car costs more and contains less. We’ve been duped into thinking we are ahead when in fact, we are way behind; financially, materially, and spiritually… you can change that by using critical thinking. By thinking it thru instead of swallowing all the garbage given to you.

Find ways to step out in faith today. Take the risk and share your faith. Ask the Holy Spirit for help.

Know you are prayed for.

In the margins…Often we attach ourselves—and our ability to be happy—on a desired outcome, only to find ourselves disappointed when that outcome doesn’t happen. Learn how you can let go and start living from a place of happiness.

Fr H reminded me this morning of what St Alphonsus said…“Prayer is, beyond a doubt, the most powerful weapon the Lord gave us to conquer evil…but we must really put ourselves into the prayer, it is not enough to just say the words, it must come from the heart. And also prayer needs to be continuous, we must pray no matter what kind of situation we find ourselves in; the warfare we are engaged in is ongoing, so our prayer must be on-going also.”

Interesting article… https://www.betterup.com/blog/how-to-find-yourself I smile at the “finding yourself” statement back in the day that was the go-to for rebellion. I found this to be something to ponder.

Looks like snow on the ground will be short-lived. Rain is to come in sometime overnight, and today’s temps are to reach the 50s. Gotta love Mother Nature.

Life is a gift. It comes from God. If you have been searching for something that will fill that hole in your heart/head I must tell you that particular spot can only be filled with Christ. If Christ is not there no matter what you do, what you achieve, how much you have, and how successful you are…will not fill it. You will always have that empty spot and thought “Is this all there is?”. That empty spot can be filled with all sorts of good and bad things, but unless you put Christ in it you will feel some sort of emptiness, loss, and unfulfillment. Trust me on this.

I seem to have lost some phone #s. Hate it when that happens. Probably has something to do with getting rid of FB. Hope you all have a great day.

Have you considered asking the Lord for boldness? Boldness to push back against the fears that may creep into our hearts. Boldness can help you stand up for your beliefs, spread the faith, and conquer fears… Lord, fill me with your Holy Spirit and enable me to speak and act with boldness today.

Happy Birthday to Richard A (1975) and Colton L (2010) Hoping your day is awesome!

Life in general is good

Wisconsin just can’t seem to let go of winter. This same thing happened back in 1973. By 0500 tomorrow morning our temps will have gone down to around 28°F. Hopefully the tulips and daffodils will not be to frozen.

Desk calendar prices finally went down so I bought a new one. It’s a fill in the month thing so it doesn’t matter that the year will change.

God is always ready to forgive and heal, the problem is “humans” are not. They allow their feelings to become involved. Back in the day we were not allowed to let feeling rules we were instructed in the good and the bad. Virtues & Vices We were encouraged to master the vices by practicing the virtue. Thinking of yourself got you nothing but trouble. Then some touchy feely “guru” came along and began showing how important it was for everyone to get intouch with themselves, to do what made them happy, to believe their happiness was best for them and to forget about others and what makes them happy. That’s where it all began. Even the disciples shortly after Christ’s resurrection and ascension found out how easy it was for people to push their happiness in front of community well being. Human nature is selfish, it is a fault, it is always just under the surface, waiting for an opportunity to raise it’s ugly head. I am horrible at putting others first, it is a daily struggle. Pray for me.

Today I remember my G’ma Katherine O and her second marriage to Richard M. May they both rest in peace.

Divine Mercy Sunday…St. Faustina

Today’s ponder from John Randolph…”The principle of liberty and equality, if coupled with mere selfishness, will make men only devils, each trying to be independent that he may fight only for his own interest. And here is the need of religion and its power, to bring in the principle of benevolence and love to men.

In my not so humble opinion this is where we as humans are today.
