49 years we celebrate today

I’d do it again in a heartbeat

It all comes down to the graces received in our sacramental marriage. We by no means had 49 years of marital bliss. We had 49 years of the Holy Ghost working on our hearts and minds. 49 years of trying to put the other first. 49 yrs of working thru the hard stuff. 49 years of receiving unconditional love from each other. 49 yrs of praying for each other.

Example: Sunday… (him) Jesus, I pray for my wife. Each day, teach me how to lay down my life for her and live in a way that glorifies you and her. Keep her healthy lord and allow me to create space for her emotional, mental, and spiritual growth in a way that aides her health. Teach me how to build her up rather than break her down. I love you, God. Help me to love her the way you love the church. Amen. (Me) Blessed Mother, help my husband and I to be more and more committed to you and your holy Catholic church. Please help us to grow in faith and to pass that faith onto our children. May it permeate every aspect of our life, so there is no question Who we put first in our lives so our children see this and learn from it. Thank you for our faith. May we never take it for granted. Amen.

So far, it works, and by the grace of God, it will continue to work.

Nice little rain last night

Home till around noon today.

If one asked me who I was voting for, I would respond with “no one Democrat” and no one vilifying someone else. Doesn’t leave much, does it.

Why I do not use self scan to check out

Self scanners do not…

– Pay social security

– buy houses

– pay sales tax

– eat in a local restaurant

– greet me

– ask me if I found everything ok

– go to sporting events

– Tell me to have a nice day

– go to my church

– spend money any where period

Why would any chose self-scan over a real live human being.

Decide to stand in line and wait or tell a clerk to call another checker. Don’t self check. They do not contribute to the social security program that you will be using when you retire.

Off and running early this A.M. picking up a couple and bringing them home.

Nice afternoon yesterday. T&C with children came. We enjoyed their company.

Took a VelMeyer print to the framer. Apache Madonna & child. Found it in the ugliest frame ever made, along a wall in a stack of old frames, paintings, and prints. Taken out of the frame with the right matting will make all the difference.

Those faded looking spots are glare. The print is perfect. The caption says “When the Great Spirit speaks, He speaks to all.” Once done I’ll post a better photo.

Ooòooh youza, we did too much cleaning yesterday. But it feels good to have it done. The old muscles are feeling the pinch. On the up take… we live and CAN feel the pinch.

The coolness of the morning is welcomed. As is the low humidity. Fall is just around the corner. There are beautiful mums everywhere.

Fall Fest will be upon us soon.

Geese went over yesterday afternoon.

The plums are ready for picking. Feel free to help yourself.

Hay was mowed… the smell is refreshing. Memories of long ago push up through my mind, bringing a smile to my face.

I’m still reading Spirital Direction with Dante. It is truly thought-provoking.

St Pat’s has a Bible study starting up in September. I’m going to look into it. I totally enjoyed doing Fr. Hardin’s study. I hope this one is as challenging.
