Happy Birthday to MaryW, & Faye S

Today we remember Le Slater who died in the Gila Wilderness in 1989, and Karen Ficke Cook (author) who passed in 2022. May they rest in peace.

St. Edith of Wilton symbolizes devotion; modeling how devotion to God surpasses worldly attention. Father, help me to follow your voice when the world demands my attention.

Meditations for Each Day, pg. 370, Christ’s Work in Us
If we continue to climb energetically towards Jesus, we shall be comeing nearer to Christian perfection. If, on the other hand, we halt, the supernatural life of Jesus in us will begin to weaken. Tepidity will replace fervour, and sin will succeed tepidity. It is difficult to remain unchanged, because life involves movement.

Divine Intimacy, pg. 1091, Unitive Love,
My God, you have infused love into my soul. Grant that it may increase until it brings me to union with you.

Scripture Reading, Day 16 of Fruits of the Spirit
Romans 5:1-2 Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace* with God through our Lord Jesus Christ,a 2 through whom we have gained access [by faith] to this grace in which we stand, and we boast in hope of the glory of God.b
Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.t

Chilly one out there this morning!
Fall is 5 days away.
What’s happening in the “Fall” of your life?
Are you gathering in the fruits of your labor?
Are you cleaning off the debris/or breaking it down, in the garden of your soul?
Saving the good seeds to be replanted in the Spring?
Mulching the garden to fertilize it over winter?
Are you making a list of the tools that need clean-up & repair/or replacement?
Have you made a list of the things you need to read up on/ or learn more about?
Have you started a list of items you will need in the spring
keeping it handy to add to during winter?

Sometimes we allow our lives to become so busy we fail to see areas we need to shore up.
We fail to remember there is a season for everything.

Ecclesiastes 3

* There is an appointed time for everything,

and a time for every affair under the heavens.

2A time to give birth, and a time to die;

a time to plant, and a time to uproot the plant.

3A time to kill, and a time to heal;

a time to tear down, and a time to build.

4A time to weep, and a time to laugh;

a time to mourn, and a time to dance.

5A time to scatter stones, and a time to gather them;

a time to embrace, and a time to be far from embraces.

6A time to seek, and a time to lose;

a time to keep, and a time to cast away.

7A time to rend, and a time to sew;

a time to be silent, and a time to speak.

8A time to love, and a time to hate;

a time of war, and a time of peace.

9a What profit have workers from their toil?

10I have seen the business that God has given to mortals to be busied about.

11b God has made everything appropriate to its time, but has put the timeless* into their hearts so they cannot find out, from beginning to end, the work which God has done.

Know you are prayed for.
