St. Boniface reminds us of Jesus’ words that there is little merit in loving and helping only those who love us. Jesus, help me to be brave enough to win the hearts and minds of those who do not yet believe in You.
Meditations for Each Day, pg. 220, The Sacred Heart and Holy Viaticum
John 15:13, Luke 23:43, NOTE: Holy Viaticum is the final reception of the Holy Eucharist administered to a dying person.
Scripture Reading for Day 5 of Dealing with the Enemy
Ezekiel 28:18-19 Because of the enormity of your guilt, and the perversity of your trade, you defiled your sanctuary. I brought fire out of you; it devoured you; I made you ashes on the ground in the eyes of all who see you.h 19All the nations who knew you are appalled on account of you; You have become a horror, never to be again.i
Job 19:25 As for me, I know that my vindicator lives,* and that he will at last stand forth upon the dust.g
*Consider rereading the last 4 days of the Ezekiel readings. I’m pondering these this week because of where it started and now where it appears to be ending. From the perfect bright shining star to someone with no eternal life due to choices made and the use of gifts given by God. We humans have a tendance (or so it seems) to begin with gratitude for gifts received, turning them into what we then believe is of our own doing.
Nice surprise last evening. Our son-in-law Kris dropped in for a visit. He was up in the area visit his friend Brian and will be leaving sometime tomorrow.
This morning I see the cpap doctor. Then the reflexologist, then the chiropractor. Wish they could just wave a magic wand and make everything better. Wishful thinking I know.
Know you are prayed for.
