Nights have been cool enough for those little  🐀 to think they can invade the 🏠.   Another one bites the dust.  It is times like this, I miss Bart & PB.  No, we are not getting new pets. At our ages, that’s just too much to deal with.  We’ve had 47 yrs of house pets, the hair is finally gone. Nope, not going there again.

Have you been keeping tabs on the ridiculous things going on in government now? Why do we put up with these childish tantrums? They are making a mockery of our government and judicial systems. Let’s not even get into some of the stupid things coming out of Washington these days.

What’s happening in your neck of the woods?

Know you are prayed for.

My May 26th letter to the Sheriff was responded to. I am thankful.

Have a bit of running to do today.

Hope your day is awesome

Oh, and I wanted to remind you… Every Friday of the year is meatless unless you substitute a different sacrifice. However, no substitutions can be done during Lent. Also one must fast at least 1 hr before every Mass you attend. Some have forgotten this, others have been taught wrong, and some who teach are teaching wrong.

Independence Day… 4th of July… just remember “freedom” isn’t free
Someone died that you might be able to say the things you say and do the things you do

The new to me refrigerator is a Maytag two-door, drawer freezer and I love it. This appliance retails for $2,000.00. My cost at the Habitat for Humanity Re-Store was $300.00 with the added; keep your receipt in case this doesn’t work so you can bring it back. It works so far. I’ve downloaded the owner’s manual, ordered the water filter, and waited the desired 24 hrs for it to cool down and make ice. May it last for as long as the previous one… 20 yrs.

Have an awesome 4th

Hit and Run accident update:
Deputy Hein, Monroe County Sheriff’s response to my email regarding when the hit and run accident (6-19-2023) report will be ready for my insurance company.
7/3/2023 1449 hrs from 6084876028
Ma’am
Due to large amount of time ( I reported it to the SO right after it happened) between the original crash, neither yourself or the striking vehicle remaining on the scene (it was a hit and run, no officer was close to being able to chase the striking vehicle I left the scene and followed it), and the discrepancies in the description of the possible striking suspect vehicle (I reported small, black, SUV type vehicle which was later found in the town where I had followed it to and it was a small SUV type vehicle with front end damage likely to have been caused by the type of accident I had reported), I will be unable to file an accurate crash report.

This officer NEVER came to look at my car, NEVER initiated a phone or in-person conversation with me. NEVER went to the scene of the accident, NEVER went and spoke to the owner of the striking vehicle (although I got a very good look at the driver and am confident I could make an identification). This is not good police work. He would not have EVER contacted me on his own and only sent this text ( if he even sent it, I am quite certain it was sent by a dispatcher) because I have been bugging him.

Because I am who I am I did a bit of research…

****If you are involved in a crash or collision anywhere in Wisconsin, you are required to take 4 actions
1. Provide all involved individuals with your name, address, and other contact information.
2. Provide your vehicle’s registration number and insurance.
3. Show your driver’s license to other involved parties.
4. Report the accident to the police

According to Wisconsin Statute

346.0912The operator of a vehicle shall not drive on the left side of the center of a roadway on any portion thereof which has been designated a no-passing zone, either by signs or by a yellow unbroken line on the pavement on the right-hand side of and adjacent to the center line of the roadway.
346.09(4)(4) Other provisions of this section notwithstanding, the operator of a vehicle may not overtake and pass on the left any other vehicle which, by means of signals as required by s. 346.34 (1), indicates its intention to make a left turn or U-turn.
346.67 Fleeing the scene of an accident is a crime in Wisconsin that can result in jail time, a fine, and a civil lawsuit1. According to Wisconsin statute section 346.67, anyone who is involved in an accident that causes property damage, injury, or death must stop their vehicle near the scene and remain there until they fulfill their legal duties

You are guilty of a misdemeanor if you leave the scene of an accident involving property damage alone. For a first violation, the penalty is a maximum fine of $1000 and a maximum sentence of six months. If the victim suffers minor injuries, the penalty escalates up to 9 months in jail and a maximum fine of $10000.

Duties of the law enforcement officer…

Sheriff’s deputies are responsible for investigating and disposing of car accidents, disabled vehicles, debris, and other impediments to the free flow of traffic. They are often the first responders at the scene of an accident (or obstruction), and in turn summon paramedics, firefighters, tow truck drivers, etc. Looks like Monroe Co needs to retrain this deputy.

I was asked a question today…

Tell me where you see or feel the presence of God.

I answered

In all honesty, I am struggling to see him right now. That I continue to search and hope must be where I find him. Otherwise, why would I continue to hang on?

The last three years have been “one damn thing after another.”

I am a simple non important person in the mix of things. That this barage of things continues to work at breaking me down is a sure sign that I need to hang on no matter what.

It must be a sign that my faith matters more than I believe it could.

The only one who would work so hard to make me stop believing is satan. If my faith matters that much to satan, it must be more important than I believe it to be.

Therefore, I walk thru this desert looking for something to quench the dryness. Something to show me I am on the right track. Something to affirm what I know to be true.

The man sleeps so does the girl

Bird chorus announcing the dawn

Found a used portable washer for the girl while they RV Park this summer. We’ll pick it up today and test it out.

Irish Ridge Rd looks amazing! From Dell to Parker, it’s totally awesome! Town of Clinton, this is a wonderful improvement!

Day 3 of the girl’s garage sale.

Extra siding moved out of back entry way. Might just get that area in order yet.

I’m rambling this morning. I tend to do that when the mind is full of things that need sorting through.

There are white rose and pink rose suckers in the front yard if anyone is looking for an old-time rose bush. I believe you’d find a lilac bush and plum tree suckers as well.

Off to Boscobel this morning. Quick drop off to make.

Almost run over by electric car. They are so quiet, didn’t hear it coming. Just one more thing on my list of reasons not to own one. Child labor used to mine the minerals used in making the batteries is another reason on that list. Right along with the idea of how green those pushing that narrative want you to believe it is. In the end, we will find out it is all about the 💰 being made by the select few. Don’t get me wrong, I have no issues with people making $$s. My issue is with the lies told to make them and the backs that received pennies doing in work. Perhaps that should be another entry at a different time.

Gotta get it moving.

4th amendment

I’m amazed at the blatant disregard given the 4th amendment these days.

I am also agast at cell phone videographers thinking they can video tape and post on social media WITHOUT THE CONSENT of the person they videotaped.

Slowly but surely, we are giving up our constitutional rights. Sometimes without a thought. Other times wondering, but then, being badgered into following the crowd. Sometimes forced into it by our employers or businesses that seem to think they can dictate our health decisions.

I see young people giving no thought to their rights because “everyone” does or doesn’t do that. Their fear of being different appears to be overwhelming for them.

Good came from the shut/lock downs. It appears to have opened the eyes of many and the vocal chords of many more. This is a good thing… no more cattle or sheep falling into line without a thought.

Now we need to get a handle on the use of AI technology and get guidelines/rules set up.

Garage Sales, sheds, and roofs…

The girl came this week to run the garage sale. I am no good to her, but she is doing great on her own.

The chimney is down, the roof is patched, and re shingled in that area. No sense fooling ourselves. A steel roof isn’t in the budget right now. Many thanks to our friend Henry and to the boy for doing this. The man at 72 can not tackle this one himself.

Reality bites a bit these days. The minds are young, and the bodies grow old. The strength that once was diminished. Time is not our friend these days. Napping seems to come daily now. Doesn’t take much to convince ourselves to take one.

We need to find a new shed. A larger one split into two rooms with separate entrances. One side for the garden, the other for a library/office area. The copy jobs are more frequent and larger. More space is needed for layout and assembly. Also, for family history research items. Where did this all come from?

So far, no interest from family members has been shown to take over the history things. Not everyone has an interest in searching and compiling. This is okay. I just need to have it in order when the interest comes.

Nuff of the rambling. Time to get things done before life passes us by.

Village peaceful

Coffee strong

tree leaves sparkle in the streetlamp
pavement wet from rain
sunrise obscured by rain clouds
cool breeze relief from oppressive heat
streetlamps dousing themselves in morning light
old glory flutters on the breeze
parched ground sucking down water
mourning dove coos arrival of dawn
rain drip drip drips off the eves white rose blossoms turn brown
hibiscus blossom opens
rabbit nibbles
such is the nature of spring

Thoughts jumble and crowd my mind this morning. I’ve been pondering the words spoken last evening. Dueling with myself… respond… be silent… respond… be silent. Life has changed over the past few years. The definition of “I love this place.” isn’t the same. Today, it is just words spoken in order to convince. There doesn’t appear to be action in those words. If one looked, really looked, they would see empty platitudes given to those hanging on in hopes of seeing and experiencing this love of yours you speak of. Instead, one mimeographed letter addressed to the whole no phone calls, no emails, no visits, no returned anything you ghosted. Definitely, no leadership/shepherding experiences were seen by me.

Hmmm, perhaps best left right here where one knows it won’t be noticed.

Know you are prayed for.
