Scripture Verse: Isaiah 41:10 “Do not fear: I am with you; do not be anxious: I am your God. I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my victorious right hand.”

IF… 23 week in, 2291fasting hours, pluggin along, still losing inches & averaging 1# a week loss

NT… day 24 of 90, decrease of numbness in feet and legs, although I still have a light sock feeling.

Cpap… making odd noises, mouth still extremely dry, wakes me up, still hate it but do it.

How’s your Lent? Did you get to confession? Did you forgive those who have hurt you? Did you ask forgiveness of those you have hurt?

My Lent has been very dry… desert dry infact. My normal church involvement has come to a screeching halt… there will be no Easter services at my church. The expectation is I seek those in my sister church. I did find out they are doing Wednesday rosary so I went last night. That was good, very good for my soul. The bible study on Tues is not meeting during Lent, will begin again in April.

More Esken CDs arrived yesterday. I totally enjoy how he has taken charactors from his first book and gone deeper into their lives in other books. I think these all stand alone bringing the rest of the story to light in new books. These would make great movies. I hear the first book is being developed into a feature film. I have it on my must see list.

Send up prayers for MK who has been diagnosied with prostrate cancer.

Did you see the video of the House Oversight Comittee examining Presidents Biden’s role in his family business practices in China, Ukraine, Russia, and other places in the world. It’s looking like influence peddling. They have been looking into this for over a year now.

When did the Catholic Church change to using the NABRE from the NAB?
Who put out The New Catholic Bible?
There’s some really interesting changes going on and I’d like to know who authorized them.

For those interested the USCCB has an interesting resource link that everyone should read if they are politically interested in what is happening and what the Church’s feeling about it are.

I’m out of time this morning; something that happens too frequently these days.

Stop signs, stop signs everywhere!

The village has put up so many stop signs you’d think it was Madison.

We’ve got less than 1100 people here and stop signs galore.

The money could have been better spent on street repair, curb, and gutter.  Are these things decided at the village meeting?  Maybe I should attend.

They spent way too much money at the police department, too. Considering no one ever sees them on the streets anymore.

Silent, peaceful morning in town

Take away from Mass “purgatory is a gentle pence for our committed sin” In thinking of every sin I have committed time spent in purgatory is a gentle reminder of what it could have been (hell) had I not confessed and repented. Sometimes one gets fairly smug when for whatever reason previous sin is brought up… “I’ve been forgiven of that” is a common reply, it’s forgiven. Yes, it has been forgiven and because of that mercy you recieved from Christ it won’t be the reason you go to hell. But the effects of your sin did not stop. Think about that before you blythly go off and once again do something that is sinful… what will be affected by what you do. Avoid the near occasion of sin… there in lies the answer.

Many thanks to PM for her kind words this morning, made my day.

Yesterday at St Columbkilles in DBQ, IA I said goodbye to my friend Patty M. As I waited for the funeral mass to start I noticed that her youngest son’s friends came in group to give him support. What a wonderfully kind gesture that was to him. I also noticed how respectful P’s sons were to those around them and the kind gestures they displayed even in their sorrow. In those gestures I saw my friend and the influence she had on them. As I presented myself for communion I took one last chance to touch the coffin where my friend’s body laid. My last fairwell gesture to her. In that moment I realzied it was just her body, her soul had already left. Although I will never see her again in this life, perhaps we will meet again in the next. RIP my friend for I am smiling thinking about you, Kathy H, Carmen, & Kathy S perhaps having a cmom gathering there. Pray for us.

I must get it together today and work on my bible study assignment.

There are 2 copy projects to complete

A couple of letters to write and ready for Monday’s mail.

Morning Offering given… praying for the repose of the soul of Patty Melin. A dear friend who died last Friday and is continuing her journey to Jesus.

Village waking, rain. Oh Monday you came too fast!

NT… on track for the day. In all honesty, something is happening. Let’s hope it continues.

IF… 2038 hrs so far, things are coming along, slow but sure. Not even my feet escape the loose skin.

Cpap… being used. Still hate it.

Good grief this looks like a medical chart! No one told me hitting the over 65 yrs was going to be filled with simply getting and staying healthy.

Book…”Eskens” finishing the one, starting another. Time to request the next. Read Allen Eskens… just do it.

I’m killing plants again. For some unknown reason during the winter I just can’t seem to keep them alive. I forget to water, forget to turn, and honestly this house is so very dark it drives me crazy! Back in the day I had awesome plants. I have friends who have awesome plants (wonder if they shake their heads at mine.)

Trump… I wouldn’t be me if I didn’t mention this… WOW just WOW at how things are for him. In 50 years I’d like to see what the history books have to say about all this. Does anyone else NOT understand the inconsistancies in this? Red vs Blue vs Wokes vs Progressives wiith the big bucks being spent like they were just a 1 or a 5? Then there’s the rest who are being bombarded with paid for media that insinuate something and when their half truth is laid out in front of them they refuse to acknowledge the insinuation. Should any of you need a lesson on the Constitution I have several good books from various authors (credible ones) I’d be happy to loan you. And then of course we have the sheep who follow without a clue and just want it all to be done and over. Trust me, it will never be done and over as long as people are unwilling to acknowledge there is another side, a different view, and stop blindly following. Ok, I’m off the soapbox.

I’m off to greet the day. Come what may, I will make it thru.

Isaiah 35:4 read it!

The man is up and gone, headed to Madison this morning then to Iowa for the weekend.

Coffee, I need coffee

Happy “19” Birthday, Jayden… have an awesome day!

Neuropathy Treatment is interesting. everytime I complete it I think to myself…the nutritional supplement is gross and disgusting… today, I thought meh, I can live with this. Not my favorite, but I can live with it. The light theraphy, I’m thinking, perhaps I’m foolish to do this, after all what’s this light going to do for me? All I can say is the tight socks feeling on my feet has lessoned. The electrode therapy, I laugh, cause I don’t feel it at all. But the foot soaking feels great and the calluses on my feet are softening and it can be done each morning while the rosary is being prayed. That in and of itself is real value.

Books… Esken’s The Life We Bury is worth the read, touches on Autism, alcoholism, critical thinking but most of all self healing. We all have things in our lives we don’t want people to know about, talk about, or find out… we bury it. This book takes a realistic look at how to set yourself free.

Cpap… back at it. Still hate it. Still have exceptionally dry mouth. I will live.

Back in the saddle at 0645 today. Hoping things go smoothly.

GO SEE JESUS!, he’s waiting for you. 1 Peter 5:5-7… Likewise, you younger members,* be subject to the presbyters. And all of you, clothe yourselves with humility in your dealings with one another, for:“God opposes the proud but bestows favor on the humble.” 6 So humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time. 7 Cast all your worries upon him because he cares for you. 8 Be sober and vigilant. Your opponent the devil is prowling around like a roaring lion looking for [someone] to devour.

The man & Chopper sleep

Got home shortly before 10 last evening. Was good to get here. Today we will empty the truck, pack the Expedition and get ready for the 2nd leg of our vacation beginning Tues morning.

Good time at K&S’s. Both working hard for their dreams. Yesterday they picked up the keys to their new home. So excited for them. Looking forward to seeing it at the end of the 2nd vaca leg.

Things I learned while on Leg 1 of Vacation
1) pack snacks or don’t eat at all
2) set a daily plan on driving time, enjoy the drive by stopping and seeing but don’t extend the time frame to attain a mileage goal.
3) use driving time to extend knowledge i.e. find out why a town is named what it is, for example: (Rich Hill, MO), read markers as you go (Hwy P historical marker Ontario, WI) play a game, or walk down memory lane.
4) keep a travel journal, make notes along the way, and include everything including the stalled car in the middle lane just S of KC or the livestock trailer NB on 35 spewing gravel that hits windshields. Never know when something will be important.

Found the following on a card at Cracker Barrel on our way home. I found it to be true enough to save. However, it misses the most important aspect of marriage…God. It doesn’t touch on the commitment God has made to your sacrament of marriage. It doesn’t speak to the necessity of praying together, asking God to direct your lives as you form and mature in this union. It doesn’t address the necessity of listening for answers to prayers, waiting for requests made, and accepting the possible answers of; not yet, let’s wait on this, maybe, or outright no. It doesn’t speak to the necessity of becoming one family unit perhaps at the expense of the family unit each grew up in.

Marriage Is by Barbara Cage
A commitment.
Its success doesn’t depend on circumstances, feelings, or moods-
but on two people who are,
loyal to each other and the vows they took on their wedding day.
A relationship where two people must…
listen, compromise, and respect.
It’s an arrangement that requires a multitude of decisions
to be made together.
Listening, respecting, and compromising go a long way toward
keeping peace and harmony.
A Union in which two people learn
from their mistakes,
accept each other’s faults
and willingly adjust behaviors
that need to be changed.
It is caring enough about each other
to work through disappointing
and hurtful times
and believing in the love
that brought you together in the first place.
Patience and forgiveness
It is being open and honest,
thoughtful and kind
Marriage means talking things out
making necessary changes,
and forgiving each other.
It is unconditional love at its
most understand and vulnerable
love that supports, comforts, and is determined
to triumph over every
challenge and adversity.
Marriage is a partnership of two unique people
who bring out the very best in each other
who know that even though
they are wonderful as individuals
they are even better together.

I’m looking for to the day. I have Valentines to finish, packing, laundry, mapping, and all those other little things that pop up along the way.
