Village quiet

Coffee aroma infiltrating the house. The taste is ambrosia.

12 years ago, I came across the most wonderful smelling plant. The giant blooms looked like trumpets. The colors were glorious. I studied it and found it was 100% poison. I wanted one. The man brought one home a couple weeks ago. It sits on my front porch. I will try this winter to keep it alive. It over winters in a dark basement till spring.

Angel’s trumpet is a very poisonous plant, causing intense hallucinations, seizures, and even death in the most severe cases. This plant can also cause poisoning through various routes. You can get poisoned by touching, inhaling, or eating almost any part of an angel’s trumpet. The intoxicating scents are variously described as musk, lemon, mint, lily, hyacinth, citrus, jasmine, gardenia, and more. Regardless, the fragrance is most noticeable on warm summer evenings. We humans are fickle and vain. We want beauty, comfort, adoration, and power. We want it knowing it will poison us. This plant reminds me of that defect in my character.

Tread carefully, my friend. satan entices with beauty and power but can only survive in dark dormant places.

Know you are prayed for.

Patio sitting

This afternoon shade on the patio is wonderful with a nice breeze.

The man is edging the beds.

Birds are scolding. Mama Robin is trying to teach  Jr. to fly, and the man is in the flight path.

Mr Pig found a home and is waiting for a new family to move in.

Bridle wreaths in bloom.

Fountain ready to plug in.

This yard is our happy place. We’ve spent 12 yrs getting it to where it is now. Each shrub, rosebush, tree, and flower has a story. As does the fountain, garden gate, pond, and statues.

Each year, as winter grows long and cold, we vow it to be our last one here in the wilds. Spring arrives, and what looked cold and dead springs to life with vivid color. The sun has warmth in it again.

The hard labor intensive work brings winter aches and pains out of the body, toning the old and broken down back to good health.

Purpose has once again revived us. Gives direction and opens up unnoticed pathways.

Spring is new life

Summer is the growing, stretching, learning stage

Fall brings it all together

Winter allows restoration and contemplation on lessons learned

Just as the earth cycles thru its seasons, so does humankind

God has a plan

We are part of it

And suddenly… SPRING!

Of course, this really means weeding season has arrived. The bees are working hard on the plum tree and Rose of Sharon shrubs. Tulips, daffodils, holy hocks, flame shrubs, resurrection lillies, etc have pushed their way to sunshine and heat.

I am always amazed at new life in spring. Why is that? Christ has told us all things are new thru him. What dies comes back to life. We just need to believe, pray, and wait for God’s time frame. All things come to those who wait.

The Ranch in bloom…

My son D has 120 acres of rock, sand, gullies, cati, and rattle snakes. Today, many things were in bloom. The view was breathtaking. The border patrol is working overtime. Yesterday, at this check point, 200 entered legally and probably more than that illegally.

This is not forgiving country. Water is scarce, heat can be unbearable, shade isn’t often found. Yet, trash is everywhere from humans who passed through.

The man off to Iowa for the day.

Interesting video…powerful words Tucker Carlson and the Power of Truth https://link.theepochtimes.com/mkt_app/tucker-carlson-and-the-power-of-truth_5233877.html?utm_source=andshare

Once again, I will say the fee I pay for the Epoch Times is the BEST money I spend each month.  You can’t go wrong with it.

Plants need to go in the ground be for we leave on Thurs.

Picked up 3 books on cd and 2 regulars. CDs for the drive. The ceramic pot holds a variegated “string of pearls”

The table is a mess, actually the entire house is. This, too, shall pass.

Today is my day to pray for cmom, as well as others. Know you are prayed for.

Village peaceful…you realize, of course it is because it is the middle of the night…0 dark 30 thanks to you daylight saving liberals who are probably sound asleep in your beds. While us standard time die hards are up and at em with an hour less sleep each day. The sun knows exactly what time we should be hauling ourselves from bed.

Rain heading this way. It has arrived.

Not a great sleep. My mind worked all night.

The convertible found a new home. Nice young man who was excited to have it. Hope he has fun.

Front porch and patio are ready for sitting. Lawn chairs have found their place in the yard. Horseshoe pit ready for a game. Flower pots await plants.

Coffee’s good.

Nice to have the man home.

Spring is finally here.

Have an awesome day.

Prayers…

For those who have gone before. May they RIP

Stopped at family plot on the way home. The stones have been raised and straightened. Now, they just need to settle a bit, and all will be well.

Giving thought to flowers. My m-i-l had such a green thumb. Two more cemeteries to check before spring gets away from me.
