Somehow, we must figure out a way to be “family” again.
Somehow, we must figure out a way to change family responsibilities (chores) into joyful, happy, willing moments.
None of us look forward to scrubbing toilets. Some of us dread the chore, others totally ignore it.
Somehow, we must figure out a way to make it an “act of love.”
We do dishes not for ourselves personally but for the person who will eat from it next.
We do laundry not because it is our duty but so the person who wears it next looks their best.
We clean house not for ourselves but for those who live there with us or those who come to visit. So they are comfortable.
Every responsibility is done not for ourselves but for others. Their comfort, their peace. Their joy.
Somehow, we must change our minds/hearts from drudgery to willing.
May I suggest we begin with if, on your path today, you see something that needs doing… simply do it. No fuss, no bother, no recognition. Do it for the joy someone will have when they realize it has already been done.

Remembering Roger W, Leland, and Rich today. May they rest in peace.
Great visit with Beth last night. Nice to be around to do that.
Breakfast at Bobby John’s this morning.
Have an awesome day

Patio sitting while asparagus spinach pie bakes in the oven. Watching the man finish the rock boarders around the flower beds. Soaker hoses have been buried.
The street out front was seal-coated today. Looks nice. Scott from church was on the crew.
Modular home halves and a log truck are parked in the lot by the house.
The girl and her husband parked their pontoon in the back parking area. Makes me want to lay on the deck and catch some rays.
Wish I had a round cow tank. I’d paint the inside sky blue and the outside grass green. Fill it with water and my air mattress and float the afternoon away.
Come join me in my happy place.

This is what my mother-in-law looked like when I first met her. My sister-in-law had this photo, and I need to share it.
