Ooòooh youza, we did too much cleaning yesterday. But it feels good to have it done. The old muscles are feeling the pinch. On the up take… we live and CAN feel the pinch.

The coolness of the morning is welcomed. As is the low humidity. Fall is just around the corner. There are beautiful mums everywhere.

Fall Fest will be upon us soon.

Geese went over yesterday afternoon.

The plums are ready for picking. Feel free to help yourself.

Hay was mowed… the smell is refreshing. Memories of long ago push up through my mind, bringing a smile to my face.

I’m still reading Spirital Direction with Dante. It is truly thought-provoking.

St Pat’s has a Bible study starting up in September. I’m going to look into it. I totally enjoyed doing Fr. Hardin’s study. I hope this one is as challenging.

We arrived home late last evening. Hot, tired, and grateful.  Our pilgrimage to view the incorrupt body of Sr. Wilhelmina had ended.  We had packed everything possible into this trip. My mind is sort of a jumbled pile of packages waiting to be sorted into some semblance of order.

I took this photo myself yesterday in the chapel at the Benedictine convent of Our Lady Queen of Apostles in Gower, MO. Sr was the foundress of this order of contemplative nuns. She died 4 yrs ago. Her body was exhumed to move it to a new location after construction.

Looks like today will be a hot one. I will hope this means the line for viewing Sr. Wilhelmina is short.

I read an article a few weeks back that cautions one to be cautious in thought and action when viewing Sr. Although her body appears incorupt, she is not as yet deemed an incorruptible. Rome will make that decision sometime in the future. The touching of objects to her body in belief that she is an incoruptable would be in error.

Last evening, Bro Cyprian reminded us that the only thing our Lady/or a Saint should do is lead us/point us to Christ. He went on to say we need to stop, look, and listen for God’s voice in this. Repeating several times the need to focus on the quiet, unplug from the world that seeks to create noise in our minds, preventing us from focusing on God.

When asked if his life got dull and boring, he responded that it does at times (which is the case in all vocations regardless of the one it is), which in turn creates a challenge to persevere in prayer. It was in persevering that he found the answers he had been seeking.

I appreciated his candor.

The knees are a challenge this morning. I suppose it will be this way, so I offer up all my knee discomfort for the souls in Purgatory.

We are off to Gower,MO, to see the remains of Sr. Wilhelmina. It is going to be a hot and humid pilgrimage. Hopefully, this will lesson the line and wait time.

Watchman will spend time at J’s.

I’m putting this out there once again… GET RID OF DAYLIGHT SAVING TIME! It serves no good purpose any longer. Let us get back to the basics… SUN TIME. Where our bodies were made to be. In sync with nature’s way of marking time.

Wouldn’t it be nice if all politicians acted in the best interest of their constituents and the United States? Went to DC, worked hard, and retired after their terms expired instead of making a career out of it. The entire process has become a sham. It doesn’t have to be that way.

It seems power goes to people’s heads. Even here in our little village, the power seekers identify themselves with puffed up egos. Swaggering thru the marketplace with the signatures akin to prominence dancing in their head.

We humans have lost our humility. Which isn’t unusual considering that since the beginning, we have refused to practice that virtue. Most days, we refuse to acknowledge our superior abilities in some areas, are God-given. Therefore, allowing us to wrongfully believe we are entitled to our arrogant, prideful behaviors.

Of this, I am guilty. Daily, I choose to forget God’s superiority. Pray for me.

Shawl needed on the porch this morning. Very enjoyable to feel the coolness of the breeze.

Ultrasound of left knee and left wrist tomorrow morning.

Beginning to think I need a new body, this one isn’t holding up these days. In all truthfulness, it is my own fault. I haven’t taken very good care of it. 1 Corinthians 6 talks to us about our body being the temple of the Holy Spirit. So many things connect us to God. SOUL-SPIRIT-BODY 1 Thessalonians 5:23 speaks to this. There are several other verses as well. They can all be searched for. Do this for yourself.

If you are not practicing your faith, get back to it. Lack of practice leads to acedia, which leads to the unforgivable sin. Matt 12:31-32, Mark 3:21-30, Luke 12:10.

Acedia is a form of sloth – apathy caused by neglecting one’s faith and moral life. The neglect is intentional because one gets too absorbed in work, activities, and distractions, which devour your time. These take precedence over the need to nurture one’s friendship with God—in sum, “it just doesn’t matter”.
