Woke this morning to lightning slashing the sky while thunder rumbled, shaking the ground. Much needed rain is falling in gentle waves. The screens here on the porch are saturated with coveted water. The wind is a cooling breeze. No complaints will be heard. Today, we will celebrate answered prayer. The roping corn leaves will unfurl and drink in the moisture. Nature will sigh with relief and open itself, taking a long drink of this liquid gold. We all give thanks and praise to God for hearing our pleas for rain and responding.

Nice visit last evening with s-i-l and niece.

The AC unit quit last night. Am thinking the electricity flashed on and off. The man will handle it today.

Gibs will be visiting again today. He is quite the character. He comandeered a chair on the porch. He likes this one best.

The external hard drive came for my family tree program/my journal/and my blog. Now I need to figure out how to move it over so I can use it on the laptop and on the notebook.

My new project is a how-to “Survive & Flourish in Marriage” folder. We have been giving them to newly married couples for some time now. My DH and I will celebrate 49 yrs next month. We have made many mistakes, had numerous mess-ups, and are still learning from them. Along the path, we have learned set-in-stone things that if we stick to them our marriage flourishes and grows. If we don’t our lives seem to go off on paths of their own and we end up being legally married but living separate lives. Send up a few prayers that we get the format perfected and find a place that will print it for us.

Brake light came on in the car. Can’t figure out why. The lines have been replaced, as have the brakes and calipers. The fluid was full when the man looked. So today I do Mass across the road instead of last night at St. John’s. Perhaps the boy will find time to stop in and check this for me today.

How about that “Sound of Freedom” movie!! I’m laughing at mainstream media trying to make a conspiracy theory out of it. Those “WOKES” are making fools of themselves. By now they should have figured out that no one but Democrats think like them. The rest of us know the truth when we see it. But then they tenuously hang on to the belief that the election wasn’t fixed (check out the FBI news) they believe that the Biden bribery case is a lie (check out the news), are hanging on the insurrection idea of J9, and all because they don’t want Trump in office. Their actions are putting him there. He’s getting mega news coverage and taking away from anyone else running on the ticket Thank you Trump haters, you are doing his team a favor. Don’t get me wrong, Trump has/did make lots of mistakes, but your “HATE” outdoes anything he has done wrong. Just like Jason Aldean’s “Try That in a Small Town”. You’ve sent him to the top of the charts.

Also one must fast at least 1 hr before every Mass you attend. Some have forgotten this, others have been taught wrong, and some who teach are teaching wrong.

Lovely lovely day yesterday with my VDF at Holy Hill. Just what was needed to get myself back on track.

Here in the wilds we are so very fortunate to have shrines scattered all over the state. These little stops in the road where one can take the time to remember who created us are so very important to our every day lives. If you have a chance to stop when you 👀 a sign for one, take the time it is so good for your soul. Our Lady of Champion, St Philomena, Our Lady of Guadalupe, Dickeyville Grotto & Shrines, Holy Hill, Divine Mercy, Schoenstatt-Madison, Fatima Shrine, Roadside@Rosholt, Calawers@ De Pere, Schoenstatt-Milwaukee, St Ann’s Spring Green, La Salette @Twin Lakes, Chapel Ridge St Anthony, and Shrine-Custer. Add a bit of chant to your car stereo and a rosary or chaplet, and you’ve lifted your soul to God.

Yearly dental visit today, then 2 late afternoon stops, and the day is done. For now, it is coffee on the porch with my honey

Sympathy extended to Fr. K on the death of his mother. May she rest in peace.

Off early this AM to meet my VDF (very dear friend) at Holy Hill for the day.

Thunder and lightning but no rain last evening.

Mr Feralcat skulking around this morning.

Great supper companions last evening. We feasted on sweet corn from Roy’s produce on 33 at Nevada. Looking forward to his fruit shipment coming in sometime today. His whole pineapple is excellent.

Pray for… rain, Natalie to recover as well as for other cancer patients. Pray for the release of those unjustly held and the arrest of those who deserve to be. Pray for law enforcement to do their jobs without letting their personal bias enter into the workplace. St Michael watchover, protect, and direct them.

If you’ve stopped believing God can make a difference; remember you are his hands and feet here on Earth. Perhaps the difference lies in your action.

Sound of Freedom… go see it. Then find a way to help make a difference.

Looking forward to the day. Not much in the plan except to finish: typing paper and folding laundry, vacuuming, and changing the sheets on the bed.

I would however like to mention one thing… private fireworks. Get a permit, don’t send them off over somone’s house. Think about your neighbors and how they may have been sleeping or wanting to sleep or are a vet with PTSD, or have a pet.
