I received a surprise in the mail: an invitation to my nephew’s son’s graduation. I was instant angry, maybe had I been invited to his wedding, or perhaps received an invitation to a baby shower, or even a baby announcement, or if there had been something more than total, complete silence except for exchanges of sympathy at the family funerals (no one bothered to call me about but I found out about and attended out of respect for family) I would have reacted differently. Maybe if they had treated all of my children as cousins instead of just the one biological child, ignoring the adopted, or if there had been invites to important family events, or even acknowledgements on the street, I wouldn’t have been angry. I threw the announcement in the trash. Now to work on the instant angry. Which means I must forgive them. That might take a lifetime.

I had another early run this morning. Then it is time to get to the Reflexologist and Chiropractor. I can tell it has been a while since I’ve been there. I should treat my body better. I need to be there at least every other week. I know this, yet I fail to get it done.
This morning, I found the Cherokee Morning song. Translated, it means, ” I am of the Great Spirit; it is so.” I then ran across an old book I’d read (FerVent by Priscilla Shirer) with a note sticking out of it that said, ” I pray you recover and maintain your passion for Christ and regain and sustain your cutting edge.” My eye then caught a night prayer tacked above my desk, paraphrased it reads, “Speak to my heart and mind so that I may find I have received a light for my way, strength for my tasks, peace from my worries, forgiveness for my sins and the power to live in your word.”

Mass was beautiful at St. Augustines yesterday. Was good to see a full church. Was very good to see the rail being used regardless of how you accepted Christ.

Today… “Harrowing of Hell”
The word “harrow” originally comes from the Old English hergian, meaning “to harry or despoil”, and is seen in the homilies of AElfric of Eynsham, c.955-c.1010 monk. [b] The term ‘Harrowing of Hell’ refers not merely to the idea that Jesus descended into Hell, as in the Creed, but to the rich tradition that developed later, asserting that he triumphed over inferos, releasing Hell’s captives, particularly Adam and Eve, and the righteous men and women of the Old Testament period.
The Harrowing of Hell is mentioned or suggested by several verses in the New Testament:
Theologian Hans Urs von Balthasar sees parallels with Mark 3:24: “If a kingdom is divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand. And if a house is divided against itself, that house will not be able to stand. And if Satan has risen up against himself and is divided, he cannot stand, but his end has come. But no one can enter a strong man’s house and plunder his property without first tying up the strong man; then indeed the house can be plundered.” That and Matthew 16:18 (“And I tell you, you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not prevail against it.”) speak to Jesus’s power and the impotence of Satan.

Anniversary greetings to C&J Mc have a wonderful celebration
New baby girl on the sandhill ridge. Mom and Baby are good. MM went to hosp yesterday, transferred to Lax GundLuth, had surg. is resting comfortably now. AM still in hosp after being butted by a bull. Broken hip and leg, sore chest. Lots going on in the Amish community this past week.
As I drove in early morning through the thunderstorms Matthew 27:51, Mark 15:38 and Luke 23:45. Very appropriate for Good Friday. The veil represented a barrier between God and humanity. The tearing symbolizes the breaking down of that separation, and the tearing top to bottom symbolizes divine intervention. Matthew 27:51-53; And behold, the veil of the sanctuary was torn in two from top to bottom. The earth quaked, rocks were split, 52 tombs were opened, and the bodies of many saints who had fallen asleep were raised. 53And coming forth from their tombs after his resurrection, they entered the holy city and appeared to many. Mark 15:38; The veil of the sanctuary was torn in two from top to bottom. Luke 23:44/45 It was now about noonz and darkness came over the whole land until three in the afternoon 45 because of an eclipse of the sun. Then the veil of the temple was torn down the middle.
