Good Morning!
What a fun day it was yesterday with 6 Amish teachers in Lansing, IA at “Horsfall’s Variety Store” (opens@9). Anything and everything you can imagine in there with single file aisles packed full. There was no room left in the cargo space of the Expedition. Then it was off to New Albin, IA to “The Way Station” a thrift store (opens@10) with fun staff and good items at a reasonable price. Today will be an easy day for which I am grateful.

Morning! It’s Monday once again. Time to review the schedule for the week and create your list for today. Be sure to include some downtime on that list. The “Superman” movie yesterday was interesting, but not one I would see again. Eating Chinese afterwards with Jason & Silver was great! Got decent sleep last night, with an easy day ahead of me.

Meditations for Each Day pg. 274, the Enemies of the Soul. Tradition tells us they are the devil, the world, and ourselves.

Good Morning!
Friday has finally arrived, for which I am grateful. My skies today are cloud-filled, with the possibility of rain. That seems to be the way of things for the past 3 weeks. My knees and other joints are stiff and tender from all the humidity. My day should be uneventful, with 5 pick-ups and drop-offs scattered throughout the day. I’ve been listening to author Craig Johnson’s Longmeyer series. They always have a good twist to them. The home to-do list is getting lengthy again. I’m getting a bit depressed over the lack of movement on it.

Quote from Bishop Joseph E. Strickland: Do not leave the Church. Do not run from the battle. Stand in the Breach, Kneel in Adoration, Pray with tears, Speak without fear. And fight with love. The wolves are real. But the Lamb is on the throne. And the gates of hell shall not prevail. Stay faithful. Stay watchful. And stay in the Heart of Christ. May Almighty God bless you–in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost.

Morning! Running short on time. Maid pick-up to do, copy drop off, then pick-up a chemo patient for her treatment, pick-up ice cream at 11, then back at 4:30 to get the chemo patient. In between those things, I will pay the mechanic, wash & vacuum the SUV, talk by phone with a dear friend, and try once again to figure out how to get a digital planner working.

Morning! Headed to bed early last evening, which means I was up way early this morning. Copy work is completed and ready to deliver. Bank deposits need collecting and delivery. Laundry needs to be completed. The floors need cleaning. SUV to be delivered to Clucker’s late afternoon for replacement of coils. This will be a labor-only trip as coils were replaced less than a year ago. The man will replace the cabin filter himself and change the oil.

Can we spend a moment in prayer for the loss of life in Texas and those who suffered loss of loved ones. As well as giving thanks to all those who helped. Should we not also refrain from taking away from those who lost their lives by praising those who helped? I know it is a tendency of ours to think of the good as much as possible, but in doing so, we lessen the opportunity to offer up redemptive suffering.

May we also take the time to understand the deportations and holding facility arrangements? If someone is seeking asylum, they must fill out the necessary paperwork to initiate the process. Remaining here without doing that is BREAKING THE LAW. For those who came to this country with no intent of becoming a citizen, and knowing if they did apply, they would be denied due to their crime/gang entanglements, are BREAKING THE LAW. As a Christian nation, we are required to feed, clothe, and house those who come illegally, but we are not required to do that in luxury or to the detriment of our citizens.

While I’m on my soapbox, I may as well add that President Trump has nearly completed all of his campaign promises despite opposition from the other side. In doing those things, he has uncovered much fraud and wrongdoing from years past. I find it amazing that those in opposition cannot see this. But perhaps it is more in the WILL NOT SEE than in the cannot.
