I must be going out of my mind, I can hear a cell phone alarm but I cannot find the device. No one else seems to hear it. Please please tell me it is not a new form of tinnitus

Here we are again, last day of the month. How was your May? Mine was way too busy, I was very scattered, there was too much work, and I felt too lazy many days. Guess what? I get another chance to do it better. To focus more on my relationship with Christ. To be less busy, less concerned about getting things done. Less opinionated…haha this is a good one.

Will someone please tell me why, no, never mind, forget it…I don’t need to know.

The street was redone yesterday. Looks nice.

I missed telling Terry S happy birthday on the 27th

I missed telling Sue C happy birthday on the 28th

Hope everyone is doing fine

Day is done…

Patio sitting while asparagus spinach pie bakes in the oven. Watching the man finish the rock boarders around the flower beds. Soaker hoses have been buried.

The street out front was seal-coated today. Looks nice. Scott from church was on the crew.

Modular home halves and a log truck are parked in the lot by the house.

The girl and her husband parked their pontoon in the back parking area. Makes me want to lay on the deck and catch some rays.

Wish I had a round cow tank. I’d paint the inside sky blue and the outside grass green. Fill it with water and my air mattress and float the afternoon away.

Come join me in my happy place.

The man sleeps

The girl and husband showed up last evening late with a pontoon I keep trying to tell her we are downsizing but apparently, she’s not listening. I’m sure she will have fun with it.

The auction yesterday was successful. It might well be the best auction they’ve had there.

I was asked about the Evangelical Catholic program. After much googling, reading, etc. No thanks…too protestant for me. Jesus called 12 to lead his church. He calls everyone to believe and follow him. I can believe, most days I can follow. Somedays I want to live my faith quietly. I NEVER want my faith to come off as an in-your-face sort of thing. I always want my faith to be seen in my actions and speech. Somedays I fail at that. I think it is fine to be a Martha or a Mary. I think first you believe, you get to know who Jesus is, you make him the most important part of your life, you chose a spouse who feels the same way. You create your domestic church, raise your family pass on to them the need for a personal relationship, show them how to begin, encourage it, and participate in it. When you have guests invite them to join you in your rosary hour, invite them to Mass with you. Include them in your daily ritual. Pray before and after your meal, even in public. In short, live your life showing it outwardly all the time.

There is a plethora of birds in the yard; mourning doves, purple finch, chickadee, sparrow, Robin, Baltimore oriole, Redwing blackbird, and the list continues.

Birdhouses, feeders, flowers, shrubs, and bird baths contribute to their existence.

Their joyful calls welcoming the morning start the day. Peaceful harmonies fill the day making for an enjoyable front porch or patio moment.

Overcast and haziness fill the skies today. Canadian wildfires make this so. Sunrise and sunset are glorious moments in the day due to that.

My S-i-l celebrated a birthday yesterday. Hope her day was beautiful.

My letter to the editor was printed in yesterday’s tribune.

Plants went out last evening for a good watering. Will need to rehang them today.

Weeding needs to take place on the other side of the gate. A hosta needs splitting.

The man and I have achey muscles from all this.

Perhaps it is time to sit on the patio and discuss fixing world issues.

Have an awesome day.

No coffee

The man awake making coffee. I told him this morning I was looking for a new boyfriend as the old one forgot to make coffee twice this week.

Aches and pains… they come in the “Golden Years” with little effort. 5 reps on the machine for upper arms yesterday made for them in the upper arms today. I suppose weeding yesterday helped. I know weeding is the cause of today’s achy hands and knees. Just think of those people in the Old Testament like Methuselah who lived into his 900s… I bet he wasn’t weeding.

Nice to have Kris & Sessi here this weekend. Was nice to have nephew Joe ride along to Mass last evening.

The plan is to have a slow, easy day.

Niece Sonia delivered an art piece I’d commissioned. It is “stunning” more than I’d expected. Now to mat and frame it. Oops the photo is crooked. Let’s blame that on the “Golden Years” too.

Coffee has arrived! Time to porch sit and bird listen.

Coffee leftover…okay

the mulching finished

New gravel added to the driveway by the street. Slow but sure the honey-do shrinks.

Interesting experience yesterday with the local sheriff’s department dispatcher (she was a bully on the phone to me) when I called to ask a question. I have yet to decide if I plan to file a formal complaint or not. Prayers for discernment, please.

The office area is in definite need of cleaning and decluttering. I’m not quite sure how it gets this way.

Copy job to get to today.

Great conversation with my sil Cheryl last evening. We need to connect more often.

the mulching is almost completed, it got to be a larger and larger project as we went along. Well worth the time and effort…mostly the man’s time and effort…think of me as project manager.

Do you love me? John 21:16 Jesus asked this question of Peter and he asks it of you and me as well. Do you love me? Immediately I think of the poem Sonnet 43 by Elizabeth Barrett Browning

How do I love thee? Let me count the ways.
I love thee to the depth and breadth and height
My soul can reach, when feeling out of sight
For the ends of being and ideal grace.
I love thee to the level of every day’s
Most quiet need, by sun and candle-light.
I love thee freely, as men strive for right.
I love thee purely, as they turn from praise.
I love thee with the passion put to use
In my old griefs, and with my childhood’s faith.
I love thee with a love I seemed to lose
With my lost saints. I love thee with the breath,
Smiles, tears, of all my life; and, if God choose,
I shall but love thee better after death.

We’re all prone to thinking love between a man and a woman, Jesus isn’t talking about that kind of love.

I’d best get a move on
