4th amendment

I’m amazed at the blatant disregard given the 4th amendment these days.

I am also agast at cell phone videographers thinking they can video tape and post on social media WITHOUT THE CONSENT of the person they videotaped.

Slowly but surely, we are giving up our constitutional rights. Sometimes without a thought. Other times wondering, but then, being badgered into following the crowd. Sometimes forced into it by our employers or businesses that seem to think they can dictate our health decisions.

I see young people giving no thought to their rights because “everyone” does or doesn’t do that. Their fear of being different appears to be overwhelming for them.

Good came from the shut/lock downs. It appears to have opened the eyes of many and the vocal chords of many more. This is a good thing… no more cattle or sheep falling into line without a thought.

Now we need to get a handle on the use of AI technology and get guidelines/rules set up.

Prayers for Lavina M please, she is now in treatment for cancer.

Matthew 5:20-26…when’s the last time you mended (fix, patch-up, restore, repair, piece together) a relationship? Hard isn’t it? The idea of having to go back into something that was obviously not a good situation for you can be terrifying. Jesus isn’t asking you to do that. He is asking you to forgive (work on forgiving) the people/persons in your life (even the toxic ones). He wants your heart to be open and ready for Him… something that isn’t possible if you’ve hardened your heart against someone else. He wants your heart open, soft, pliable, ready for the seeds of love he is going to plant there. He cannot plant if your heart is hard, filled with pain, distrust, anger, fear, and all those other things. He is not asking you to go back, return, or resume any toxic relationship. He is asking you to clear that junk out and make room for him. The only way to clear it out is to touch it again, take the wall down, look it over, assess the damage, and be willing to change your thought process. Reconciliation is the opportunity for you to repent of your contribution to the difficulties in your life and thus leaves you more open to mending the damage. It is hard, yes it is. However, it is well worth the time and energy.

Garage Sales, sheds, and roofs…

The girl came this week to run the garage sale. I am no good to her, but she is doing great on her own.

The chimney is down, the roof is patched, and re shingled in that area. No sense fooling ourselves. A steel roof isn’t in the budget right now. Many thanks to our friend Henry and to the boy for doing this. The man at 72 can not tackle this one himself.

Reality bites a bit these days. The minds are young, and the bodies grow old. The strength that once was diminished. Time is not our friend these days. Napping seems to come daily now. Doesn’t take much to convince ourselves to take one.

We need to find a new shed. A larger one split into two rooms with separate entrances. One side for the garden, the other for a library/office area. The copy jobs are more frequent and larger. More space is needed for layout and assembly. Also, for family history research items. Where did this all come from?

So far, no interest from family members has been shown to take over the history things. Not everyone has an interest in searching and compiling. This is okay. I just need to have it in order when the interest comes.

Nuff of the rambling. Time to get things done before life passes us by.

The girl arrived yesterday. Garage sale looks ready to go.

Early run for me. Hope to be home by noon.

White roses still in bloom. Pink ones beginning to open. We need rain.

Pesky rabbit working on garden plants.

The car has a brake issue. It is at the shop for repair. We have been Blest with a great mechanic all these years.

Cmom gathering thoughts are swirling around in my head. I have a list of shrines to look at next.

Book sorting has begun. I have a very good Catholic library.

Enjoy the day. Relax and appreciate nature.

The man will be headed Iowa way sometime this morning. Taking Lavina and her husband to the treatment center in Centerville. They thought they would be there about 2 wks.

The girl will be here sometime tonight. Her plan is to set up another garage sale for the weekend.

Chimney removal is on the books for tomorrow sometime.

Looks like this morning may just be a snuggle-up with good book morning.

Lutheran Rosary, yes they have one, a Lenten one, a Longworth one, and what is called the wreath of Christ. All are interesting. Please note Luther said the rosary his entire life using the pre-Trent Hail Mary. This is something not talked about much. I often wonder how many Lutherans know about it.

Today think about how
You are the salt of the world
how you can enrich the world around you
putting hope at the heart of the Gospel message
showing the world that trials and trouble will not have the final word

Thoughts jumble and crowd my mind this morning. I’ve been pondering the words spoken last evening. Dueling with myself… respond… be silent… respond… be silent. Life has changed over the past few years. The definition of “I love this place.” isn’t the same. Today, it is just words spoken in order to convince. There doesn’t appear to be action in those words. If one looked, really looked, they would see empty platitudes given to those hanging on in hopes of seeing and experiencing this love of yours you speak of. Instead, one mimeographed letter addressed to the whole no phone calls, no emails, no visits, no returned anything you ghosted. Definitely, no leadership/shepherding experiences were seen by me.

Hmmm, perhaps best left right here where one knows it won’t be noticed.

Know you are prayed for.
