LGBT Blessing

Declaration “Fiducia supplicans” issued by the Vatican’s Dicastery for the Doctrine of the Faith today, the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) offered the following statement from its spokesperson, Chieko Noguchi, executive director of public affairs.

“The Declaration issued today by the Vatican’s Dicastery for the Doctrine of the Faith (DDF) articulated a distinction between liturgical (sacramental) blessings, and pastoral blessings, which may be given to persons who desire God’s loving grace in their lives. The Church’s teaching on marriage has not changed, and this declaration affirms that, while also making an effort to accompany people through the imparting of pastoral blessings because each of us needs God’s healing love and mercy in our lives.”

Intermitant fasting going fine… a bit of a struggle with the Christmas goodies around. Am disliking loose skin apron a lot.  I need more exercise, so does the dog, perhaps we can partner up.

Cpap… beginning to think it is a gimmick.  Time will tell.

1st Day of Winter.

Feast Day of… Adrian
Dominican martyr in Dalmatia. Adrian and twenty-seven others were executed by Muslims for confessing Christ.

Restlessness in my soul pray for me. This happens every year at this time.

Know you are prayed for.

Our household has gone from two people, no pets to 2 old, 3 twenty somethings and a dog. Seemingly overnight.

I must say this dog reminds me of PB. Not surprising since the boy chose both of them.

Feast Day of Saints, B Urban V (Pope 1362- 1370) worked tirelessly st stop corrupt clergy and Anastasius (Pope 3??) Worked to reunite the church. May both of them pray for today’s church.

The wisemen continue to journey to the Christ child.

Melch… I have not a clue as to why this is called a cactus. There’s nothing spiny on it at all.

Know you are prayed for.

New week has begun. The Christmas frenzy is notably more intense. What a shame it is mostly the rush for physical things.

Slow yourself. Ponder your relationship to Christ. For he and his sacrifice for you are the only reason this holiday exists.

I am asking you to pray for an unnamed intention.

Know you are prayed for.

“ The Dash Poem”by Linda Ellis

I read of a man who stood to speak at the funeral of a friend.
He referred to the dates on the tombstone from the beginning to the end.

He noted first came the date of the birth and spoke the following date with tears.
But he said what mattered most of all was the dash between the years.

For that dash represents all the time that they spent life on Earth.
And now only those who loved them know what that little line is worth.

For it matters not how much we own, the cars, the house, the cash.
What matters is how we live and love, and how we spend our dash.

So, think about this long and hard. Are there things you’d like to change?
For you never know how much time is left that can still be rearranged.

If we could just slow down enough to consider what’s true and real,
and always try to understand the way other people feel.

Be less quick to anger and show appreciation more,
and love the people in our lives like we’ve never loved before.

If we treat each other with respect and more often wear a smile,
remembering that this special dash might only last a little while.

So, when your eulogy is being read with your life’s actions to rehash,
would you be proud of the things they say about how you spent your dash? ”
