Derrick Van Orden Farm Bill Extention update
News from Congressman Derrick Van Orden
Farm Bill Extension Update
Our farmers and agricultural industry are the backbone of our nation. Food security is national security and it’s critical that Congress passes a reauthorized Farm Bill package. As the only member from Wisconsin on the House Committee on Agriculture, I’m committed to ensuring our farmers are equipped to carry out their jobs.
Tuesday’s government funding bill included an extension for the 2018 Farm Bill through September 30, 2024.
This extension provides certainty for our agriculture industry while the House Agriculture Committee continues to write a full reauthorization package that secures the resources American farmers need to support their families and serve as the world’s food supplier. I also cosponsored the Agricultural Biorefinery Innovation and Opportunity Act to improve an existing program to provide crucial support for biofuel producers as the demand for biobased product increases.
The House Agriculture Committee has made significant progress in putting together a highly effective Farm Bill that will best serve our farmers – but Congress’ work doesn’t stop here. I am in constant communication with my colleagues to create and support provisions for the fully reauthorized version of the Farm Bill.
My 2024 Farm Bill priorities:
Inclusion of the DAIRY PRIDE Act, which will prevent non-dairy products from using a dairy label and misaligning nutrient-scant products with the nutritious dairy products produced by America’s farmers.
Inclusion of the Whole Milk for Healthy Kids Act, which will allow schools to participate in the National School Lunch Program to serve flavored and unflavored reduced fat (2%) and whole milk.
Inclusion of the Healthy Drinking Water Affordability Act, which would provide direct assistance to rural communities, households, and nonprofits to test their drinking water and fund filtration technology to provide safer drinking water.
Inclusion of the Dairy Farm Resiliency Act, which would make necessary updates to the Dairy Margin Cost program to raise the Tier I cap to 6 million pounds and require production history to be updated every five years.
Inclusion of the Dairy Business Innovation Act, which will allocate an additional $16 million per year to U.S. Department of Agriculture Dairy Business Innovation (DBI) Initiatives to support dairy businesses in the development, production, marketing, and distribution of dairy products.
Farm Bill extensions are a common practice that allow transition time for implementing new programs. During this extension, I will continue my work in Congress to protect our agriculture industry and the farmers who keep the world fed and fueled.
Sincerely,
Rep. Derrick Van Orden

August is definitely here. The hot, humid, kind like in my youth. Back then, no A/C at school. Some days were sweltering.
Today, I am home. Unless the vet has an opening. There is a plethora of things to do here.
The debate, if it can be called that… nope, not worth time time to type it out. I will however post this
Introduction. Express your message and why it’s important to your audience, as well as yourself.
Statement of fact. Break down the general thesis of your argument into smaller parts. …
Confirmation, or proof. …
Refutation. …
Conclusion.
Never do these…
Don’t Attack Another Person. …
Don’t Generalize, Exaggerate, Or Be Sarcastic. …
Don’t Start It Off As A Know-it-all. …
Never Use Ultimatums Or Threats. …
Don’t Be Disrespectful. …
Don’t Interrupt. …
Don’t Raise Your Voice/Hit The Caps Lock Key. …
Never Walk Away Until It’s Over.
I will leave it at that.
Know you are prayed for.

Headliner in car needs to be fixed. If you know someone who does this shoot me a name and number. I have the adhesive.
The external hard drive came for my family tree program/my journal/and my blog. Now I need to figure out how to move it over so I can use it on the laptop and on the notebook.
My new project is a how-to “Survive & Flourish in Marriage” folder. We have been giving them to newly married couples for some time now. My DH and I will celebrate 49 yrs next month. We have made many mistakes, had numerous mess-ups, and are still learning from them. Along the path, we have learned set-in-stone things that if we stick to them our marriage flourishes and grows. If we don’t our lives seem to go off on paths of their own and we end up being legally married but living separate lives. Send up a few prayers that we get the format perfected and find a place that will print it for us.
Brake light came on in the car. Can’t figure out why. The lines have been replaced, as have the brakes and calipers. The fluid was full when the man looked. So today I do Mass across the road instead of last night at St. John’s. Perhaps the boy will find time to stop in and check this for me today.
How about that “Sound of Freedom” movie!! I’m laughing at mainstream media trying to make a conspiracy theory out of it. Those “WOKES” are making fools of themselves. By now they should have figured out that no one but Democrats think like them. The rest of us know the truth when we see it. But then they tenuously hang on to the belief that the election wasn’t fixed (check out the FBI news) they believe that the Biden bribery case is a lie (check out the news), are hanging on the insurrection idea of J9, and all because they don’t want Trump in office. Their actions are putting him there. He’s getting mega news coverage and taking away from anyone else running on the ticket Thank you Trump haters, you are doing his team a favor. Don’t get me wrong, Trump has/did make lots of mistakes, but your “HATE” outdoes anything he has done wrong. Just like Jason Aldean’s “Try That in a Small Town”. You’ve sent him to the top of the charts.
Nuff said…
Have an awesome day!
