We’re halfway into 2023. It begins with 1st Saturday. For those wanting explination… https://americaneedsfatima.org/prayers/the-five-first-saturdays-devotion

Join me in praying for rain… O God, in whom we live and move and have our being, grant us sufficient rain, so that, being supplied with what sustains us in this present life, we may seek more confidently what sustains us for eternity. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever. Amen. https://catholicrurallife.org/a-prayer-for-rain/#:~:text=O%20God%2C%20in%20whom%20we,what%20sustains%20us%20for%20eternity.

Looking forward to seeing everyone tonight at Kircher’s 4th of July party.

Tomorrow, we head to Rockford to remember our cousin Teri.

And I’m sure you are sick of me talking about it nonstop, but on the 3rd 540pm, we will be viewing “The Sound of Freedom” at the Sparta theater. Join us. This movie is important.

For those we want to view the incorupt body of Sister Wilhelmina Lancaster in Gower, MO, there is a bus leaving the 31st from Middle Ridge. Contact Pat Slattery for details.

Know you are prayed for.

Day is done…

Patio sitting while asparagus spinach pie bakes in the oven. Watching the man finish the rock boarders around the flower beds. Soaker hoses have been buried.

The street out front was seal-coated today. Looks nice. Scott from church was on the crew.

Modular home halves and a log truck are parked in the lot by the house.

The girl and her husband parked their pontoon in the back parking area. Makes me want to lay on the deck and catch some rays.

Wish I had a round cow tank. I’d paint the inside sky blue and the outside grass green. Fill it with water and my air mattress and float the afternoon away.

Come join me in my happy place.

Patio sitting

This afternoon shade on the patio is wonderful with a nice breeze.

The man is edging the beds.

Birds are scolding. Mama Robin is trying to teach  Jr. to fly, and the man is in the flight path.

Mr Pig found a home and is waiting for a new family to move in.

Bridle wreaths in bloom.

Fountain ready to plug in.

This yard is our happy place. We’ve spent 12 yrs getting it to where it is now. Each shrub, rosebush, tree, and flower has a story. As does the fountain, garden gate, pond, and statues.

Each year, as winter grows long and cold, we vow it to be our last one here in the wilds. Spring arrives, and what looked cold and dead springs to life with vivid color. The sun has warmth in it again.

The hard labor intensive work brings winter aches and pains out of the body, toning the old and broken down back to good health.

Purpose has once again revived us. Gives direction and opens up unnoticed pathways.

Spring is new life

Summer is the growing, stretching, learning stage

Fall brings it all together

Winter allows restoration and contemplation on lessons learned

Just as the earth cycles thru its seasons, so does humankind

God has a plan

We are part of it

Greg & Kayla, the weather was outstanding, the homily very thought-provoking, fabulous food, great conversation. Pray for this couple as they begin their new life together.

Wondering? Do you consider your life as a witness to your commitment to Christ? I ask because the apostles and disciples did. Jesus told them in Acts 1:8 But you shall receive the power of the Holy Ghost coming upon you, and you shall be witnesses unto me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea, and Samaria, and even to the uttermost part of the earth. It was the last thing he said to them before he was taken up into heaven.

Have an awesome day. Go see Jesus.
