In the Catholic Tradition… today’s reading, is normally from the NAB but I read the DRA which the NAB is a revision of. 2 Thes 3:6  And we charge you, brethren, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you withdraw yourselves from every brother walking disorderly, and not according to the tradition which they have received of us.⁷ For yourselves know how you ought to imitate us: for we were not disorderly among you;

In this particular reading they are discussing working/not working church leaders. Which it states in later verses. These verses caught my attention, and are sticking with me today. I will ponder them, how they fit into the way I conduct my life.

Surgery on righthand today. Please say a few prayers for its success and healing. Namely, that I follow instructions.

Did I tell you I ordered my 2025 planner? It should arrive in Oct. sometime. This year I also ordered the little lined paper notebooks that go with it. Sleep fitful, CPAP is too hot to wear even with AC running.

Quick pick up and drop off this morning, then on to regular Monday routine. Yesterday we emptied the spare bedroom upstairs. The plan is to touch up the paint, put in a wooden ceiling, and ready it as a guest room. We will need it on the 12th when Kaylee spends the night on her way to Eau Claire for AJ game. That will then lead us to put a ceiling in the hallway, and paint the walls and steps leading down. Which of course will bring us to the other bedroom and doing the same thing. The carpets need to be pulled up, the floors readied for painting and the finding of room area rugs for each room. We should be done by Spring. I cannot believe it has taken us this long to finish the house remake and there is lots more to do. Funny the curves life throws one.

In the Catholic Tradition… back in 2020 (yes, 4 yrs ago) a couple friends and I started reading “The Better Part” by John Bartunek, S.TH.D. One of those friends commented she had pulled hers out for another look. I have done the same. These are good reads, and thought provoking. Another friend said she was pulling out the “Apostolate of Holy Motherhood” book which is the book that inspired the CmomC online messageboard back in the day. I pulled that out as well.

Terrible night’s sleep, and ended up in the office doing copy work. Which turned into oversleeping this morning. Ugh!

Now working on upstairs cool off. Opened all the doors up there to let the cool air filter through. Perhaps it will be decent sleeping tonight for everyone.

Morning! Much better today after 9 hrs of sleep. Must have eaten something that didn’t agree with me. Regardless, I am ready for the day.

Books… Michael Connelly has been keeping me entertained in the car these days. Gotta love the suspense and drama in his books. I’ve also enjoyed Madeline Martin, Rod Dreher, and JD Vance as they spin their stories. Nothing like a good book to take you to another place and time.

The hope is to get the new ceiling in the spare bedroom in the next 2 wks. Get things set up in there, actually having a place for someone to stay. From there the hope is the other bedroom and hallway upstairs. New paint on the walls and ceilings. The man and I are going to be busy. It is time to get after it. Of course it would really be awesome if my boys would decide to come for a weekend and lend a hand.

In the Catholic Tradition… 1 Kings 19:4-8… Sometimes we feel tired along the way and it seems to us God has abandoned us. Often we are troubled and sorrowful, humbled by our many lapses into sin, dispairing of ever becoming holy. At times such as this we need nourishment, the Eucharist, this spiritual food contains the real living Jesus and it will give us strength to continue our journey.
