There’s a mama cat outside our house. Gray tiger, very friendly. She belonged to someone once. She’s been here awhile and needs to go home.

Easy day for me today. Am hoping to keep it that way.

Anyone feeling the inflation squeeze? Seems like it never ends. The current administration is spending money as if there is no tomorrow. Neither side has a good solution. Time to tighten the belts, and revamp the budgets. We’ve gotten thru before and will weather this storm as well.

Movie… Conclave… on my list, comes out this month. Have placed the book (by Robert Harris) on my library hold list. I’m 179th on the list. While searching for that found another book by same name written by Michael Walsh and placed a hold on that one as well.

Book... “The Bookwoman of Troublesome Creek” by Richardson. About the WPA job of a library on horseback in the KY mountains where the blues lived. Pondering… venial sin presents obstacles to the growth in perfection but it does not destroy sanctifying grace in the soul. Question… when does repeated/unrepented venial sin become mortal sin? Answer… it does not, instead it gradually disposes a person towards committing a mortal sin by creating a pattern of disregard for God’s will. Every temptation is 1st presented as a simple thought. An evil thought is often the beginning of the greatest sin.

Books... Hillbilly Elegy… interesting read. An insightful look at J.D. Vance and how he conducts himself. Benedict Option… thought-provoking, inspiring, and challenging.

So, have you done your research on the upcoming election? Have you put away your emotions and done the research needed to find out what will be good for the USA as a whole? Don’t listen to the hype. READ, RESEARCH, and VOTE.

Household Hedge Prayer…
Father, we ask in desire to serve You and adore You and to live our lives for You that You build a hedge of protection around our household like that which surrounded Job, and to help us to keep that hedge repaired and the gate locked so that the devil and his minions have no access or means to breach the hedge except by your expressed will.
Father, we are powerless against the spiritual forces of evil and recognize our utter dependence on You and Your power. Look, with mercy upon us and upon our household and family. Do not look upon our sins O Lord; rather, look at the sufferings of your Beloved Son and see the Victim whose bitter passion and death has reconciled us to You. By the victory of the cross, protect us from all evil and rebuke any evil spirits who wish to attack, influence, or breach Your hedge of protection in any way. Send them back to Hell and fortify Your Hedge for our protection by the Blood of Your Son, Jesus. Send your Holy Angels to watch over us and protect us.
Father, of all these things we ask in the Most Holy Name of Jesus Christ, Your Son. Thank you, Father, for hearing our prayer. We love You, we worship You, we thank You and we trust in You. Amen.
