Today –  RIAY Day 66 – Wait & Pray

Good Morning, the man took off about 2 this morning heading south with a KY-TN destination.  He’ll wander back midweek.  Meanwhile I enjoy the coffee he made and plan my day.

NOTE… The totally unnecessary and ineffective daylight time will begin once again on Sunday at 2 AM. All get to have our natural body upset for 8 months under the guise of saving energy. That is total BS.

Today
-Read Psalms 103-105
-RIAY Day 66– Pray and wait
-Memory Verse –2 Peter 1:5-9For this very reason, make every effort to supplement your faith with virtue, virtue with knowledge, knowledge with self-control, self-control with endurance, endurance with devotion, devotion with mutual affection, mutual affection with love. If these are yours and increase in abundance, they will keep you from being idle or unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. Anyone who lacks them is blind and shortsighted, forgetful of the cleansing of his past sins.

It’s good to be home. I did some awesome thrifting along the way. I now have the iron bed frame for the second spare room, an original St. Isaac of Syria Icon of Jesus Enthroned, and an Italian platter and storage jar. I will brag about the minuscule amount of currency needed for these purchases.

I’d best get a move on here.

Know you are prayed for.

Memory Verse – Matthew 15:21-28Then Jesus went from that place and withdrew to the region of Tyre and Sidon. And behold, a Canaanite woman of that district came and called out, “Have pity on me, Lord, Son of David! My daughter is tormented by a demon.” But he did not say a word in answer to her. His disciples came and asked him, “Send her away, for she keeps calling out after us.”  He said in reply, “I was sent only to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.”  But the woman came and did him homage, saying, “Lord, help me.” He said in reply, “It is not right to take the food of the children and throw it to the dogs.” She said, “Please, Lord, for even the dogs eat the scraps that fall from the table of their masters.” Then Jesus said to her in reply, “O woman, great is your faith! Let it be done for you as you wish.” And her daughter was healed from that hour.

Memory Verse – Romans 2:1“Therefore, you are without excuse, every one of you who passes judgment. For by the standard by which you judge another you condemn yourself, since you, the judge, do the very same things.” (take a moment to remember yesterday and what Romans 1:20 told you and couple these together. So many times, we memorize scripture without reading things in context or remembering there is more to the story. Memorizing scripture gives you something to think about in trying times but is also there to help you remember where to find it in the Bible to refresh your memory.}

There is no school today in Cascade (or in Cashton, for that matter). I am assuming the cxl is not so much for the morning as for getting them home in the afternoon.

Once again a bug in the WP system has destroyed my consecutive posting day numbers. What was once over 400 consecutive days of posting has been knocked back to 4. This is the 3rd time this has happened. To make matters worse I had to redo today’s post because for whatever reason it didn’t exist. Technology gotta love it.

The State of the Nation address was thought-provoking last evening. Granted, President Trump is not the greatest orator in time, but his message gave much hope and even a bit of fear. It also gave us all a chance to see how combative the Democrats are being towards him. Yes, he also was rude, as would I be in that situation.

The knee made it through the wake. The number of attendees truly fits Valerie’s personality. All walks of life were present, all deeply affected by her death. Bits and pieces of conversation captured the disbelief of her passing and the marks she had left upon them.

Today, you will be laid to rest; I cannot be there in person as I am watching the g’sons today for A&K. I know you would have understood this.

RIAY Day 61 You are Beloved
RFTD Day 6

Good Morning!
It was a painful night.
I forgot to do the last icing, and I woke up in the middle of the night to do it.
I am much better this morning.
Late yesterday, I ventured out to the office to do some copy work that had come in.
It didn’t take long, but 30 minutes was long enough.
Hopefully, today, the improvement will continue.
I need to have some testing done on the knee fluid to verify that there is no infection.
Whatever the reason, my PCP doesn’t seem to think it is important to have this done ASAP.
Yes, if I sound miffed, you are correct; I am miffed. How long would that have taken them to do last Thursday?
The Ibuprofen dosage seems to reduce left finger, wrist, and leg swelling.
Nuff of that whine… just need to suck it up and keep going.

Lent… Ash Wednesday… 3 days from today.
Are you doing anything special? I think I’ve already told you I plan to do the Ascention Set Free with Fr. Josh. The decision wasn’t made until I received the trailer for it. What an eye-opener. Turning this into a must-do, along with continuing the RIAY.

Today is my Day to Pray for Cmom.

Know that you are prayed for.

-Today is the Feast Day of the patron of Wales. St David, son of King Sant of South Wales, and St. Non. He became involved in missionary work and founded monasteries.
-RIAY Day 60: Effects of Sin
-Novena for the Dead Day 5

Good Morning
I received a good night’s sleep.
Knee pain managed on the 800 mgs every 4 hrs. I did, however, skip them during the night. The swelling has been reducing well. I continue to be concerned over the large amounts of Ibuprofen going into my body. I can walk into the next room with relative ease but cannot do more than that without pain. The icing is going well, too. Yesterday, I began rubbing the area with Calendula salve from a local vendor. It seems to help the skin tenderness around the knee area. I’ll spend the day in the recliner again, with a pillow under my legs for elevation. My goal is to be able to attend the wake on Sunday at 1pm.

Ash Wednesday is fast approaching. The season of Lent will be upon us before we know it. The plan is to continue the RIAY and add “Set Free: Overcome the Seven Deadly Sins” from the Ascension App.

Good Morning

*The Pope seems to be holding his own. May God’s will reign.
*The Government is moving forward at rapid pace to act upon their campaign promises before the liberal left closes or ties shut the doors available to accomplish something.
*Today I can say that, the knee is calming itself. After a day in hell, taking way too much ibuprophen because the injection given at the ER gave minimal relief and my PCP couldn’t find time to fit me in. The suggestion was to go to the ER again. So let me tell you how the last 2 years have been with the Mayo Health Systems. Proportedly one of the highest regarded systems in the USA.

July 2023 I met with my PCP. My main complaint was a bad left leg (there were other issues discussed) I was sent for further testing. Testing came back and I met with PCP again. I was told he would be agreeable to an injection in that knee but… but… it was on hold because of another issue. Once that was looked into we would move forward. On to other appointments, testings, etc. Results were discussed and referrals made. This took for ever to accomplish because somehow this great health system had difficulting setting appointments or testing. I waited, patiently, no really patiently because I was brought up to know the DR’s knew the best. August ’24 I made an appointment… new PCP, all the explanations, and I was teary which made me ANGRY to have to BEG for something to be done. So the leg once again on hold because heart palpations needed to be addressed first… ECHO ordered…cardiologist refural…suspect Afib…more testing…referral to different cardiologist…14 day halter…NO AFIB, no answers for palpitations. NO ECHO…PCP reordered ECHO….no call to set it up…. I called, and was told “when we are ready for you WE WILL CALL YOU. So I waited. November ’24… left leg swelling… trip to ER… sent on to ER larger town to have testing for blood clot. Taken to room, information exchanged, test taken, results told, no clot, results will be sent to PCP, get dressed and you can go. DR leaves the room. I waited, as the bed rails were up, I was hooked up to BP cuff, and the call light had been removed and was not within reach to push for help. When it became evident no one was coming I scooted to the end of the bed, and over the end, dressed myself and then left. No discharge papers, no instructions, etc. I waited for PCP to contact reference results, she did saying everything was fine no clot. I responded with so now what. Sending photo of now swollen left foot, left index finger, left elbow…. no response. I waited. Feb ’25 ECHO finally done… silly me, I was grateful I wasn’t dead. Results came, PCP response, everything is fine. No mention of leg. Feb ’25, another left leg issue, with pain so intense I wanted to vomit. ER visit, pain med injected, told to contact PCP next day for results of xrays and he said referral but first should have fluid removed for testing so that they could be sure there was no infection or gout. That it was infact bone on bone osteoarthritis flair. Came home, waited for injection to ease pain, it must have because I slept. But pain did not recede so at 9AM I called to schedule appt. I was told there was one the following day or Friday. I explained why I wanted to be seen today and was told I could not be seen. Received txt telling me to go make an appointment on line, there were no openings till next week. Meanwhile walking wasn’t manageable, 800mg of ibuprofen every 4 hours didn’t cut it. I replied to txt, that if I couldn’t be seen that I would have to seek another dr. They told me if the pain got too bad go to the ER… now I ask you, why would I do that AGAIN so that afterwards no one would see me or follow up. I continue to ice, heat, and take 800 mg of I ibuprofen every 4 hrs. This morning the knee is noticeably less swollen, and as long as I sit in the recliner and remain on pain killer, ice, and heat I can hobble to the bathroom when need. Oh wait, I have a new MAYO message. How nice, they are truly sorry for my pain and give me a number to call regarding my experiences. Oh and I cannot reply to this message. I think it is time to find another medical facility. This one obviously has no desire to help me.

Meanwhile, I cannot attend the prayer service each day for my dear friend who just passed away. I’ve had to cancel my obligations that had already be made, I hope to be at my friend’s wake, and I will be traveling to my daughter’s on Sunday. Perhaps another state has health care that will actually help me.

If you’ve gotten this far thank you for allowing me to vent. I will end my rant.

Know you are prayed for.
