Happy Mother’s Day
Beautiful weather these past few days.
The garden is in, the trees are planted, and the hanging baskets are up
The Rose of Sharon shrubs are in bloom, as is the plum tree
Daffodils and Tulips are making themselves known
I picked asparagus and rhubarb for the first time this year
The village-wide garage sales were busy, if traffic is any indication
Copy work was completed and delivered yesterday

ICE New Jersey situation on Friday may end up being called M9. Democrats Rep. LaMonica McIver NJ, Newark Mayor Ras Barak, Rep. Bonnie Watson Coleman, and Rob Menendez Jr interfered with operations there and assaulted ICE officers. They are calling it a lawful oversight visit. Hopefully, they won’t languish 4 yrs in a jail cell before something gets done.

Trade talks with China are going well, and trade negotiations with the UK have been made. I’ll be interested in seeing exactly what they are. Also, President Trump has mediated a ceasefire between India and Pakistan. Praise the Lord, things are getting ironed out.
United States-Mexico-Canada Trade Agreement (USMCA, T-MEC, CUSMA) details
Replaced NAFTA, Improved Rules of Origin, Modernized Agriculture, Strengthened Intellectual Property, New Chapters (for digital trade, government procurement, services, and rights addressing key 21’s 21st-century issues), enhanced labor and environmental standards, Joint Review, Sunset clause, and different names (see above parenthisis).
So far, India, Israel, Japan, South Korea, and Vietnam have also made or are in talks for agreements. This is a huge plus for the USA.
Adding to all this, a new Pope from the USA, who I pray will be able to iron out the Church issues, is making for a very hopeful May.

isolation = the condition of being alone, especially when it makes you feel unhappy
estrangement = the fact of no longer being on friendly terms or part of a social group
pretext = false reason or excuse
persistence = firm or obstinate continuance in a course of action in spite of difficulty or opposition
understanding = having insight or good judgement (sympathetically aware of other people’s feelings; tolerant and forgiving)
displaying = make a prominent exhibition of (something) in a place where it can be easily seen
contempt = a strong feeling of disliking and having no respect for someone or something
disgrace = loss of reputation or respect as the result of a dishonorable action, bring shame or discredit on, fall from favor or lose a position of power or honor
scorn = the feeling or belief that someone or something is worthless or despicable

I don’t know about you, but I like to break things down when I read scripture, checking word meaning to get a fuller understanding. Then I think about how these verses pertain to how I approach things. Which then takes me to the next step.

Ponder for a moment, Antonio Cardinal Bacci’s Meditation for today. Imagine you are on Calvary at the foot of the Cross. Jesus is nailed hand and foot to the wood, and the last drops of blood are trickling from His wounds to the ground. His thorn-crowned head has nowhere to rest, and the weight of His body is extending the wounds caused by the nails which hold it suspended between earth and sky. He has endured this for all mankind.

RIAY Day 124 Newness of Life

Beautiful Day yesterday. The man was busy in the yard making everything tidy. I’m back to my normal schedule today.

I’m pondering human plans vs God’s plans. This brings to mind Lysa Terkeurst’s book, “Is God Speaking to Me?” So many times, the rush-rush, just get it done, is at work when perhaps one should sit, make the plan, pray over it, and then revise/or go forward. Today’s world wants a quick response when God is looking for something else.

Poor judgment was used by President Trump with the Pope meme. It seems in today’s world, it is okay to meme everyone/ or everything for whatever reason. Perhaps the real issue is AI and how it is used. Then again, the real issue may be “satan” and how much he likes what is happening.
