Our Lady, St Dominic, & St Catherine of Siena

In 1212, St. Dominic de Guzman saw the Virgin Mary, who gave him the rosary in response to his prayer for understanding how to combat the Albigensian heresy. St Catherine of Siena had a vision where each prayer became a rose of fire ascending to heaven.

St Therese of the Child Jesus (The Little Flower) reminds us that complete love of God is the only proper foundation for life.

Morning!
It’s going to be another beautiful day here in the wilds.
The trees have begun their journey to fall color and eventually drop their leaves to conserve energy for the winter months.
Reminds me of fall garden work to ready it for the fallow time of winter, where it will rest and conserve energy for the new life of spring.
The cycle of life never stops moving. There is reason in each season of life.

Know you are prayed for.

Today, we remember Roger W Cummings, who passed from this life to the next in 1993. May God have mercy on his soul.

St Jerome, Patron of Librarians, teaches us gratitude for those whose learning benefits and advances all of us.
Read Ezekiel Introduction
RIAY Day 273: The Glorious Mysteries
Meditations for Each Day pg. 391: Christian Modesty…We are often obliged, in the ordinary course of living or by reason of our position, to see many things which could be dangerous to our spiritual welfare. There are many ugly things around us, although sometimes externally beautiful, which we cannot help seeing. At home, on the street, in society, almost everywhere, we meet persons and things which constitute a threat to our virtue. What are we to do? We must see, because very often we cannot help it, but we must never stare.

Good Morning!
Today ends the month. How quickly it has passed by. As I look at my to-do list, I realize hardly a dent has been made in it. I could blame it on illness, but although that is a reason, it also goes without saying that I wasn’t fully committed to getting things crossed off the list. I’m finding that those things that I used to do without a thought have now become quite the chore. I dislike realizing I am not able to complete things I would not have given a thought to just a few years ago.
Copy work has been completed and is ready to deliver. I head to Wautoma today with 6 people who have medical appointments. Hopefully, I will be home at a decent time. The man is off to Arcadia.

Sts. Michael, Gabriel, & Raphael…Archangels, remind us that we are never far from God’s protection and healing.

Read Daniel 14: Bel and the Dragon. You have completed 14 books of the Bible. Tomorrow we will begin Ezekiel.
RIAY Day 272: The Sorrowful & Glorious Mysteries

It is my day to pray for the CmomC. Let me know what you need.
Please continue to pray for my friends Fran & Levi.

Monday has arrived once again. The last Monday in September. On Wednesday, we will begin a new month. Perhaps now is a good time to reflect on the past month and identify areas where you could have been a better friend to Jesus. Where your life could have done something different to give greater glory to God. Go to confession with your sins, receive absolution/direction/and prayers to become a better person.
My day today will be relatively easy. The plan is to be in the office during workshop hours, printing a local family newsletter.
My cough has improved considerably, with the hope that it continues to improve. This has been a long haul for me.

Know you are prayed for.

Worksheets copy job completed. Order sheet email printed. Both ready for Monday delivery.

The man is off to a golf tournament this morning with the boy and Silver.

A letter regarding 3 separate clinical notes after care at Mayo was written and in the mailbox. A letter of complaint regarding “the scheduling employee” is in the making. She was less than and tried to make it sound like I was being difficult when all I was doing was asking a question regarding a notice to make an appointment. This led me to check the aftercare notes on 3 separate appointments, which were inaccurate in verbage and content. How unprofessional of a medical facility to fall victim to the use of pronouns and then use them in clinical reports. I was listed as they/them, which is very unprofessional and inaccurate. I don’t use that woke crap in anything; it’s mentally unbalanced and totally unprofessional.

Please continue praying for God’s Will regarding my friends Fran and Levi.

The last book arrived to complete Naomi’s order, which will be delivered on Monday. New order to be placed today for Roman’s supplements. Still need a haircut.

The cough reared its ugly head early this morning. Going on 4 weeks with this thing. Nothing seems to touch it. Apparently, an appointment with the doctor regarding it isn’t going to happen.

Good Morning!
Shrouded in fog here again this morning.
My coffee tastes exceptional this morning; bold and aromatic.
2 copy jobs have been completed and are ready to deliver
I slept through the night, and coughing was minimal
Please continue to pray for my friend, Fran, with stage 4 Hodgkin’s Lymphoma, and my friend Levi, who has a terminal brain tumor.
I conducted extensive research on the Wise Phone II, and I believe I will be purchasing one from the company Techless. It does everything I need a phone for at a decent price. While on the subject, for parents who want phones with no social media, etc., there are many available for kids.
Breaking news on former President Obama, will post when I know what it is.
Today will be an easy one. Picking up workshop workers and 9 & 4 with a short pick up and drop off in between, and a teacher pick up at 5pm.
Oh, and one more thing, for those who may need the use of a commode for a while, Bethel Homes (Helping Hands) in Viroqua has a limited supply that can be borrowed without charge.
Yesterday morning, as I was rushing around, I found an envelope holding photos. Imagine my surprise when I realized they were the “Slater” side of my family. Looking forward to getting them scanned into the family history.

Morning Offering given… Jesus, let me live for you. Jesus, let me die for you. Jesus, I am thine in life and in death.

Village cooler, peaceful, and silent.

Coffee perfect

Happy Birthday, Richard W. have an awesome day.
Remembering: Kathy S, who would have celebrated her anniversary today with John; Jeff O, who would have celebrated his anniversary today with Diane. May they rest in peace and their spouses remember happy times.

St. Pacific of San Severin exemplifies how God can transform illnesses into opportunities for prayer and discipleship.

Today is the feast day of Our Lady of Ransom.

Read Daniel 10: An Angelic Vision
RIAY Day 267: The Glorious & Joyful Mysteries
Meditations for Each Day pg. 382: Fundamental Facts… Life is passing, Death is approaching, Eternity lies ahead

Please pray for:
• Fran who is receiving Chemo treatments.
• Levi who has a massive brain tumor.
• Kadan’s soul (he committed suicide)
• President Trump and his administration to do the right and moral things that need doing without making a show of the process.

Morning…
-hang on a minute, need to refill the coffee cup
-breathing is easier this morning, for that I thank God
-my day is complicated today with a home everyone is on time and doesn’t dally attitude
-my priorities are skewed, time to get them reordered
-unbelieveable amount of scam/spoofing calls, 117 (yes I’m on the Do Not Register, have blocking app, etc) in less than a month. All from or related to United Tax Consultants or some Financil advisor (yeah right) using local numbers to get you to answer and then giving you a toll free number to call. I spent much time yesterday filing a complaint against each one and noting in my blocked call which company used what local number. They even leave a message is that bold or what? This is reason enough to do away with a cell phone. Add the health issues that they cause should convince us to rethink the use of them as in perhaps going back to dumb cell phones. Is that even possible? YES it is! WisePhone II (minimilist phone) will be checking that out.
-haircut, I need a haircut desperately but time just seems to slip thru my fingers

Village shrouded in fog

Coffee hot, strong, black

Happy Birthday to Rob S, Richard AW, and Barbara M. I hope your day is beautiful.

St Pio of Pietrelcina‘s life and Stigmata inspire us to follow Christ closely and to transform suffering.

Read Daniel 9: The Seventy Weeks of Years
RIAY Day 266: the Glorious Mysteries
Meditations for Each Day pg. 381: Carelessness; Some people think that they are good Christians because they avoid committing grave sin and more or less fulfil their duties. They do not entirely omit their prayers, but they are content to recite them listlessly...such people do not wish to serve Satan, but they lack the generosity and the strength of will to become true sons of God.

I’m not sure about you, but that reading certainly has me thinking about my spiritual life. In all honesty, it has been a struggle in some way since the church shut down in 2019. Priests are different now, appearing to be distant, distracted, and uninterested. Instead of reaching out to their flock, they request the flock to reach out to them. I didn’t grow up that way, and until 2019, I had not experienced that type of thought process. I’m told it is due to the priest shortage, the number of parishes they have, and the workload. I don’t buy that. Before 2019, in my area, the workload was the same, yet my priest and others personally kept in touch, attended good movies, ate dinner, spoke to each person at Mass, or made some effort to touch base. At one point, a new priest presented himself at our door, unannounced, to introduce himself. That doesn’t seem to be happening these days. Perhaps I need to think differently.

09.22.2025 1st Day of Fall

60°F SSW7mph SR0650(0550) SS1859(1759)… noting the weather allows us to see if the attitudes, aches, pains, etc, are different during different weather.

Morning Offering given… the offering reminds us that life is not random or wasted; each hour is an opportunity to glorify God. Whether one is strong or weary, joyful or burdened, the act of beginning with prayer centers the soul and gives direction. These prayers are not rigid formulas but expressions of the heart that draw us into deeper union with God. They lift the mind above distractions and set the tone for holiness throughout the day.

Village is silent & peaceful… noting the atmosphere in the area we live gives insight to our sleeping patterns

Coffee: strong and bold… sometimes the taste of a morning beverage can give you a clue to your physical health.

St. Matthew, who wrote his Gospel for a Jewish Christian community, expresses God’s all-embracing love (I was a day ahead yesterday, so I will post that today)… the saint of the day gives us a chance to see how they conducted themselves while on earth

Remembering birthdays, anniversaries, baptisms, & deaths… is a way to offer prayers for the living and the dead.

I was asked recently about why I blog the way I do. This morning, since we are starting a new season, I thought it might be the best time to explain that.

Read Daniel 8: The Ram and the He-goat… reading a chapter a day allows us to read the word of God at a pace that doesn’t seem overwhelming or too time-consuming

RIAY Day 265: The Sorrowful & Glorious Mysteries… is a way to touch base with Our Lady and pray about the life of Christ. Each of the mysteries give us a portion of Christ’s life, a way to get to know him and a way to remember how He loved us enough to bear our sins so that we may live with Him eternally.

From the Margins… is a reminder of things I wrote in the margin of the bible/a book that struck me strongly.

Meditations for Each Day pg. 379: Depending on Jesus… is a book by Antonio Cardinal Bacci who gives thought to Catholic teaching, bible readings, habits, etc, which allows a context to understanding.

Snippet of Family Historyis my way of passing on the who, where, and why of our particular families. It reminds me and tells others where we came from, allowing insight into those things that were important to each generation and shaped who we are today.

Sometimes I talk about what’s happening in today’s world, or in the years gone by. Other times, I let you know what books I’m reading, or I go off on a rant about the things that weigh heavily on my mind or in my heart. Most of you barely know me, and that is because although I talk a lot and do many things with many people, I share very little of my personal self. That is my means of protection due to long-ago issues. I may seem like a crowd person, but I am not. I enjoy my own company most days. Crowds make me weary and defensive. I can think of only a handful of people who really know me, 2 of whom no longer live, and 3 more whom I hold very dear. This created issues with my children and, at times, still does. I have been this way all of my life, well, since about age 4, if I have to pinpoint it to a specific time frame. Nuff said on that.

Know you are prayed for.
