RIAY Day 359: The Luminous Mysteries

Merry Christmas!
The man and I enjoyed Mass last evening at St. Augustine’s in Norwalk. The violin music filled the church, taking us to another place. The sounds of children’s voices reminded us that this parish is alive and thriving. How blest they are for that. It was good to be there. Yet somewhat bittersweet. Our home parish has no Christmas Masses; our priest told us to attend one elsewhere. But that’s an issue for another day and time. Our day will be spent here at home. I was reminded this morning, as I came into the home office, that I am still recovering from the incessant dizziness in my head. It is better (or I am getting used to it). This is a blessing, whichever it is.

The TriParish is asking everyone to Enthrone the Holy Family in their home. I picked up our picture and framed it last night, placing it by the home altar. More on that later in the month.

Enjoy your day.

Made it through the 1st day of hospital release. The motion sickness pill relieved the dizziness, and Tylenol relieved the headache. The nummy face and foggy feeling dissipated along with it.

St Irmina illustrates how good things can come from unexpected tragedies if we reject despair and put our trust in God. Father, lead me to respond in a positive Christian manner when terrible things happen to me or to others.

St. John of Kanty reminds us of the importance of abstinence and sacrifice as disciples in our personal journeys of faith.

ADVENT DAY 24
Christmas Novena
RIAY Day 357: The Sorrowful Mysteries
Meditations for Each Day pg.513: A Christmas Novena, VIII. What Jesus Wants From Us

Good Morning!

I am home from the hospital. The MRI came back no stroke, bleeding, or tumors… God is good. The thought is that headaches/dizziness are from arthritis in my neck/possibly migraines/my stuffy sinus, or my blood pressure medication. The good news is I HAVE A WORKING BRAIN! While there, they got a bit excited about this old heart of mine and how it beats so slowly and then speeds up so quickly. Will do follow-up in January in Sparta with my PC. Meanwhile, when I was there, they applied massaging wraps from my ankles to my knees to prevent blood clots. I want one of those machines. They are amazing! Wishing I could have tried it from ankle to hip because the fluid swelling in my lower legs is gone. Will be checking into that. The only med I left with was a motion sickness one to help until I have my follow-up in January. They thought a shower chair would be good, and a walker when I’m alone and unsteady on my feet. This will change the way I spend my days. No driving while dizzy. The numbness in my face is still unexplained and has lessened. Thank you for your concerns, prayers, and phone calls. I have an amazing circle of friends and family.

Now I need you to put PJS on your prayer list. He’s going through a rough time right now and needs prayers for discernment and healing. Also, just put in a suggestion that if it is God’s will, he should think about writing a book speaking about his life experiences. They have been extensive. Regardless… prayers for his well-being please.

I am still ill. Not feeling as bad, but will make it to acute care today. The dizziness is overwhelming, and my face feels numb. At least the headache is mostly gone. My ears are still doing the funky popping and closing things. I’m on day 3 of whatever this is that I hope I never have again.

Thank you to my nephew N. Your message was just what i needed. I love you too. Don’t worry, I’m hanging around until I’ve read all of that awesome book you are writing.

The SUV is back in the driveway. If you need an auto shop that stands by its work, Clucker’s is the one. They’ve had our business for years and will continue to have it. I cannot say enough good about their team.

Let us remember Joe Cummings, who passed on Dec. 19, 2000. May he rest in peace.

Advent Day 22
St Micah reminds us that as the Messiah, Jesus came to bring peace and love to all women and men. Oh my Jesus, fill my heart with peace and a sense of communion with all my brothers and sisters.

St. Gatian demonstrates that we do not need massive, ornate churches to worship God and receive the Holy Eucharist. God of all creation, help me to remember that I can worship and adore you wherever I am.

RIAY Day 252: The Luminous Mysteries
Meditations for Each Day pg. 506: A Christmas Novena: III. The First Hours of the Childhood of Jesus Christ

The day begins, FORWARD!
Last evening was a joy. It isn’t often I get to spend one-on-one time with a niece or nephew. Thank you, Reginia, for allowing me to pick you up and drive you home. Have a wonderful, uplifting time in Colorado.

Decided to take the SUV in and replace the generic parts with Ford parts and be done with it. I have a loner, a Chevy, and the seats are not comfortable. Additionally, the steering wheel reach is uncomfortable even after adjusting the seat to my liking. Glad it is a loner.

Another (hopefully the last) school program was copied and collated last evening before I headed to Tomah.

Another case of copy paper purchased… yowza! The cost of paper is outrageous!!! Ink was no picnic either. The price of fuel has lowered to 2.49. Property taxes jumped excessively. Governor Evers’ punishment in response to the general public’s refusal to fund public schools. He doesn’t get that the general public didn’t vote to fund the schools because of the woke indoctrination that has been going on. Now he’s refusing to open the SNAP records so that fraud can be policed and federal funds received. The man is vengeful, glad he won’t be running again. Wisconsin is already known for its low wages, high land prices, drunkenness, high energy costs, and lack of accessible technology (thank God, for our excellent libraries). Now we can add government disregard to the mix. The woke section of WI hasn’t figured out that we just want to live our lives, worship God, help our neighbor, and raise our children with as little government interference as possible.

Nuff said.

Crazy weather! Today it is supposed to rain. The weather has been messed up worldwide for the last few months. Makes one wonder what is going on in the heavens. Which, at least to me, brings the Advent season even more to the forefront of life. HOPE never lose hope.

Copy work finished for the day. Quick run to take someone to ReubenBertha’s funeral this morning. Then, workshop workers to drop off, a woman to pick up and take to the store, while I see the doctor for a wellness check, and a return to pick up workers and return them home, then finally off to Tomah to meet my niece and take her home. Hopefully, the rain will hold off till I’m home.
