Praising God for new baby (Marlin) that came in the middle of the night.  This is #4 for her.  Brought them down  to the clinic at 1230 last evening. Will be taking them home shortly.

Lovely wedding yesterday.  Our great niece began her ever after story.

The porch is cool this morning. Very nice sitting out here watching the sunrise.

Let’s talk tatoos… I’ve wanted one for as long as I can remember.  I will never get one.  Why not you ask… my dad said no, they last forever, look ugly when you are old, and are forbidden by God (Leviticus 19:28) only pagans, sluts, and drunken soldiers (as he waves his arm) do that. You are none of those.

He was right. They fade and mottle together, looking like a smudge on your skin. Time changes perspective.  My children have them and believe they may have had something to drink beforehand, and at least two were soldiers. Although only one had admitted to have been sloshed.  They also are a fad now… Hollywood has made them “gotta have”

I will stick with “sacrifice”.  I will only dream of having one.

Mine without the word

At the base of my left thumb.  You can visualize it. The stars would be silver.

I need sleep, the night was short.

Nature amazes me. Afew drops of rain and the withered revive.  Shrubs and flowers bloom.  Browning grass greens.

Our souls are/can be like that. A few well said words ringing with truth can make a shriveled, dried out faith blossom again.

The past few years have contributed much to waining faith.  Added to the debacle of watered-down homilies, pick & choose church teaching and scandal, it was an almost killer few years.

My first bout of covid was October 2019. Yes, I know they say it didn’t get here till 2020, but they lie. I and 2 other family members had it in October. The doctors said not influenza A or B. Acts like a virus… must be a virus. Go home, go to bed, drink fluids, call if it gets worse. I followed instructions. 4 days in bed and coughing for a better month after that. I survived. Oct 2020 did it again. April 2021, surprise covid antibodies in my blood. Please note… at no time did I test positive for it. I still have antibodies in my blood. Nuff said.

WI DOT returned my accident report. They don’t do them anymore. Monroe Co. Sheriff doesn’t due them anymore either. They sent me to a website. Ins wants an accident report… imagine that. Guess I will send them the one the DOT returned.

Which brings up the question…

Who does their job these days?

Maybe I should make a list so we know who can be counted on to do their jobs these days.

Parenting O.D.D.

What is O.D.D.? Oppositional Defiance Disorder is a behavior disorder characterized by extreme disrespect, sometimes violence, refusal, and blame. These children do not take ownership of their actions, consistently speak harshly, argue all the time, and seek revenge. It is not at all easy to get a diagnosis as it presents itself in a way […]

The cranks my chain!

I paid for my school and it cripes me that BIDEN thinks I should pay for someone else. He should used the graft he received from Ukraine & China to pay for this himself.

My May 26th letter to the Sheriff was responded to. I am thankful.

Have a bit of running to do today.

Hope your day is awesome

Oh, and I wanted to remind you… Every Friday of the year is meatless unless you substitute a different sacrifice. However, no substitutions can be done during Lent. Also one must fast at least 1 hr before every Mass you attend. Some have forgotten this, others have been taught wrong, and some who teach are teaching wrong.

Greetings from the Driftless Area of Iowa

For a second there I thought I was still in WI. I’d entered the Driftless Area of Iowa at Lansing and continued on to Waukon. Here I sit at the Robey Memorial Library in Waukon thinking what a lovely building and friendly people I have encountered. I didn’t need a library card to access the net nor did I need one to use the research section. It seems Iowa has taken free public libraries seriously.

I’m here today because I brought some Amish friends down to this community. I left them at the Bulk food store and bakery on Miller Rd. Looks like the community started here in 2007 with 21 families coming from MN, WI, & OH. I am always amazed at how adventurous the Amish are. They seem to have no difficulties pulling up stakes in one area and moving to the next, getting themselves established in short order.

Just last week I learned of the 8 families that lived in Tripp, SD for about 10 yrs and are now moving on. Some have gone to the Gregory/or Burkes, SD area while others have left SD completely. I know of one WI family strongly considering the Gregory area and have begun land negotiations. This particular family will be greatly missed when they leave our area of WI. I asked what prompted the idea of moving. Parts of the answer he gave were fewer people in the community, a good church district, and the thought that he needed to slow down to a pace that would allow him to enjoy raising his children and passing on the Amish ways to them. He seemed to feel in our area the community was becoming more modern, busier, and less interested in remaining simple. I can see where he might feel that way with the hustle and bustle of the Englisher customers in the Ridge places of business. It is not unusual to have several lined up cars on the roads due to the parking areas being full. It is also known getting into the bulk food stores is difficult on Friday and Saturday with all the Englisher traffic.

My day will turn out to be leisurely with me having the chance to take life a bit slower and enjoy the area I am visiting without having to rush or meet a time frame. I have till late afternoon to do my wandering and exploring.

My next stop will be thrift shops, then St Pat’s church.

Bit surprised, pulled the doors at 2 Catholic churchs… locked up tight. I’m not used to that.

Good but spoty rain has fell today. My hope is home received good rain as
