I have forgotten the pin # on my notebook. Gotta love the “Golden” years.
Sunflowers are blooming
I heard Tues was the hottest recorded day on Earth. Something to think about when contemplating end times.
I need to clean bird feeders.
The pond is still empty
Birds are off the shrubs and onto the wireline, Mr. Feralcat must be close by. The village as taken great strides to remove them, but this guy is old, cunning, and quick. He looks the cartoon part of the a mean tomcat.
Chill in the air this morning here on the porch. Birds are chasing each other, and rabbits are nibbling again. So far that pesky squirrel hasn’t shown up but he’ll be here. The mole in the backyard has eluded the traps, not sure what the man is doing to irradicate them now The pond is clean, and mosquitoes lose again.
World Grandparent/Elderly is on the 23rd
Carlos A. novena Day 6
Continue to pray for rain we could use more
Car still in the shop for repairs should be finished today
Giving thanks for rain received and for rain that comes. Prayers for rain continue as corn still looks ropey. I personally use the Catholic Rural Life prayer…
O God, in whom we live and move and have our being, grant us sufficient rain, so that, being supplied with what sustains us in this present life, we may seek more confidently what sustains us for eternity. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, forever & ever. Amen.
Carlo Acutis Novena for Natalie Day #4
Happy Anniversary to Richard and Kaylee. Hoping your day is awesome!
Looking forward to the day. Not much in the plan except to finish: typing paper and folding laundry, vacuuming, and changing the sheets on the bed.
I would however like to mention one thing… private fireworks. Get a permit, don’t send them off over somone’s house. Think about your neighbors and how they may have been sleeping or wanting to sleep or are a vet with PTSD, or have a pet.
Most of you are aware I have been involved with this group since the beginning. Initially we began at CatholicMom.com as a message board. When CM started to grow rapidly, we split off and began an independent message board called Catholic Mom Community. You can now find us here
Our group is private, so you will need to answer a few questions. Before the door is opened.
The years have slipped by quickly. We try to gather once a year so we can all remember how Blest we are and how important each of us is to the group as a whole.
These women have prayed me thru some of the worst parts of my life and all of the best.
I truly believe they were sent by God.
So I’m asking you pray for us as a group that we continue to minister to those who need support in their vocation of Catholic Motherhood.
Independence Day… 4th of July… just remember “freedom” isn’t free Someone died that you might be able to say the things you say and do the things you do
The new to me refrigerator is a Maytag two-door, drawer freezer and I love it. This appliance retails for $2,000.00. My cost at the Habitat for Humanity Re-Store was $300.00 with the added; keep your receipt in case this doesn’t work so you can bring it back. It works so far. I’ve downloaded the owner’s manual, ordered the water filter, and waited the desired 24 hrs for it to cool down and make ice. May it last for as long as the previous one… 20 yrs.
Have an awesome 4th
Know you are prayed for
Hit and Run accident update: Deputy Hein, Monroe County Sheriff’s response to my email regarding when the hit and run accident (6-19-2023) report will be ready for my insurance company. 7/3/2023 1449 hrs from 6084876028 Ma’am Due to large amount of time ( I reported it to the SO right after it happened) between the original crash, neither yourself or the striking vehicle remaining on the scene (it was a hit and run, no officer was close to being able to chase the striking vehicle I left the scene and followed it), and the discrepancies in the description of the possible striking suspect vehicle (I reported small, black, SUV type vehicle which was later found in the town where I had followed it to and it was a small SUV type vehicle with front end damage likely to have been caused by the type of accident I had reported), I will be unable to file an accurate crash report.
This officer NEVER came to look at my car, NEVER initiated a phone or in-person conversation with me. NEVER went to the scene of the accident, NEVER went and spoke to the owner of the striking vehicle (although I got a very good look at the driver and am confident I could make an identification). This is not good police work. He would not have EVER contacted me on his own and only sent this text ( if he even sent it, I am quite certain it was sent by a dispatcher) because I have been bugging him.
Because I am who I am I did a bit of research…
****If you are involved in a crash or collision anywhere in Wisconsin, you are required to take 4 actions 1. Provide all involved individuals with your name, address, and other contact information. 2. Provide your vehicle’s registration number and insurance. 3. Show your driver’s license to other involved parties. 4. Report the accident to the police
According to Wisconsin Statute
346.0912The operator of a vehicle shall not drive on the left side of the center of a roadway on any portion thereof which has been designated a no-passing zone, either by signs or by a yellow unbroken line on the pavement on the right-hand side of and adjacent to the center line of the roadway. 346.09(4)(4) Other provisions of this section notwithstanding, the operator of a vehicle may not overtake and pass on the left any other vehicle which, by means of signals as required by s. 346.34 (1), indicates its intention to make a left turn or U-turn. 346.67 Fleeing the scene of an accident is a crime in Wisconsin that can result in jail time, a fine, and a civil lawsuit1. According to Wisconsin statute section 346.67, anyone who is involved in an accident that causes property damage, injury, or death must stop their vehicle near the scene and remain there until they fulfill their legal duties
You are guilty of a misdemeanor if you leave the scene of an accident involving property damage alone. For a first violation, the penalty is a maximum fine of $1000 and a maximum sentence of six months. If the victim suffers minor injuries, the penalty escalates up to 9 months in jail and a maximum fine of $10000.
Duties of the law enforcement officer…
Sheriff’s deputies are responsible for investigating and disposing of car accidents, disabled vehicles, debris, and other impediments to the free flow of traffic. They are often the first responders at the scene of an accident (or obstruction), and in turn summon paramedics, firefighters, tow truck drivers, etc. Looks like Monroe Co needs to retrain this deputy.
