My brother died…
Yesterday, sometime of a stroke
https://www.leonard-mullerfh.com/obituary/Jeffrey-Ogden
I am continually amazed at some things.
J was 2 yrs younger than me. We have not spoken to each other since our father died 12 yrs ago. Well, other than a nod of the head in recognition and the utterance of a first name.
Families hurt each other; sometimes, intentionally, sometimes not. 12 yrs ago, it was intentional. I took a stand cutting off contact. This was not a petty discussion his words hurt my children. To this day, it changed things for them. You do not tell adopted children they cannot come to Chistmas because they don’t deserve to be there. You can not tell adopted children they don’t belong. It does not matter that they are mostly adults it still hurts.
Then it was decided by him and my sister P to move my mother…I was not told. They distributed my mother’s belongings, and I was not told. My mother died, and I was not told. They, of course, will say we told your eldest child who, in turn, was given the duty to tell me. What kind of people tell someone’s child (alibet adult) to pass on a death message. That is something I should have done as a mother to comfort a child. Yet again, that is how they chose to do things.
I am not innocent in all this. I could have been a bigger person, and perhaps if this had been the only thing I would have been.
My deepest sympathy to his wife D and children L, B, & E as well as their families.
May he rest in peace. Pray for his soul.

Morning Offering given… it can be something as easy as… thank you, Lord, for allowing me to wake. I am yours to do with as you see fit guide me, and teach me, through the day
Village silent. Late night filled with fun at the Fall Fest. Who won the tractor pull? Car show is today.
Coffee good, welcomed in the chill of the morning.
2nd day of garage sale.
100 yr old rustic vintage coffee table, rustic bench too.

Books, books, books
The builder of the “Little Free Libraries” is moving in October. I have several new libraries. They usually run anywhere from 100-500, depending on size. The ones I have here are 25-75. New in the box. Also, 2 lfl benches. Stop in or give me a shout.
I’m still reading the spiritual direction book. There is a plethora of information there I will need to ponder. It’s funny how we grow up and think some things are set in stone. Most are not set in stone. We do it that way cause mom did is a fairly honest answer.
S-i-L…Kyle…the above statement does not include how to fold towels or sheets. Nor does it include the proper placement of TP in the holder or the proper position of the lid on the T. That is set in stone.

Wondering what’s happening in your life

“Tenacious Holiness” was the label my sis in law put on it…
It got me to thinking and defining things.
It’s being disciplined to do the Godly even if we might not feel like it. Do the Godly until your heart catches up. Tenacious means to keep a firm hold of something. To be tenacious in our faith, we must keep a firm hold of our faith every day in all situations. We cannot become distracted.
In July 2021, Jacob Tanner (an evangelical) wrote, “Christians are commanded to redeem the time” (Eph. 5:16), “be instant to always preach the Gospel” (2 Tim. 4:2), “continually work to take every thought captive to Christ” (2 Cor. 10:5) “and pursue peace and holiness” (Heb. 12:4). “Far from being a calling to laziness, the Christian is called by Christ to continually be at work towards holiness. In fact, the command to pursue holiness is exactly like the command to “be holy as I am holy” (1 Peter 1:16). It is a command for active obedience in the life of the Christian. While this should never be understood as a prerequisite for salvation, nor as a requirement to keep salvation, the truth is that the one who loves Christ will keep His commandments (John 15:14) as evidence of the salvation that has been experienced. As Hebrews 12:4 also says, without holiness, no one will see the Lord. Thus, the Christian is both shown to rest in the positional holiness of Christ and encouraged to pursue practical holiness by the power of the Holy Spirit. This also means the Christian must actively fight for holiness by constantly putting sin to death.”
JT and I (although we attend different churches, we are both Christian) agree on this.
I had never considered the below:
Patience can be tenacious. In Psalm 31:24 we learn to “Be strong and let your heart take courage, all you who wait for the Lord!” The harvest does not happen instantly as anything worth doing takes time. Galatians 6:9 says “And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up”
Frankly, previously tenacity always seemed to be somewhat of a negative.
I am grateful to my s-i-l for enlightenment.

The girl & her husband arrived last evening. So very glad to see them. Since time began, she’s had a heart that allows her to see value in everyone she meets. She’s never met someone who didn’t deserve a hug. I used to fear for her safety. Now I see her gift. Matthew 5:38-48, Luke 6:29
Fall Fest began last evening. Lovely area in the bank to hold the function.
Did you notice the gazebo across from the fire station? I’m not sure whose idea it was, but it’s perfect! I’m hoping to see flower beds there in the Spring.
Can we talk some time about fear and how it leads us to react?
*an unpleasant emotion caused by the belief that someone or something is dangerous, likely to cause pain, or a threat.
*a feeling of anxiety concerning the outcome of something or the safety and well-being of someone.
*the likelihood of something unwelcome happening.
*a mixed feeling of dread and reverence.

The man sleeps
For those who don’t know me… I am a sassy, opinionated 68 yr old mother to 11 with 22 gchildren (some living, some not). Some married, some not. Some with children, some without. We are Irish, Dutch, English, Scotch, Norwegian, Swede, Kenyon, Cherokee, Blackfoot Sioux, & Mexican… we are proud of our heritage… we are AMERICAN.
We are CATHOLIC. Some practicing, some not, and some fallen away. But once you are, you are, and there is responsibility regardless of whether you recognize that or not. I can not save my children. All I can do is pray for them and remind them they made a promise to God at confirmation. The rest is up to God.
Scripture reminds us that following Christ will not be easy. Our way will be strewn with obstacles and hardships. It tells us to be prepared and to rely on God for all we will need to get through it. Scriptures tell us not to be afraid that we are not alone. It tells us to do what is right even if you stand alone to do that.
Know you are prayed for.
