Deer Lodge is damp this morning

Will catch coffee later this morning

Lodging clean up underway. Washer is running.  Suitcase ready for car.

It has been a very relaxing time here. Time is confusing… This place sits on the line.

I start pkg up at 0730. Then, a two hour drive to Dunnville, where I pick up 2 more. After that, 10.5 hrs to home. I will be glad to get there.

The man has been very busy moving the old office to the new. Lots of putaway work scheduled for Wednesday. How I got it all in the old office I’ll never know, it certainly fills the new one. Still have a few shelves to hang, some shim work & touch up painting to do and of course organizing and put away. Oh, and let’s not forget I’ll need to hang the artwork.

Today, we focus on the 1st week of Advent. You will find the 1st Sunday of Advent rosary link below.

Advent – Week One

Advent 2023

Magi… Wisemen… 3 Kings

Gaspar (or Caspar) wears a green cloak and a gold crown with green jewels. He is the King of Sheba. Gaspar represents the Frankincense brought to Jesus.
Melchior has long white hair and a white beard and wears a gold cloak. He is the King of Arabia. …
Balthazar has a black beard and wears a purple cloak. He is the King of Tarse and Egypt. …

They will begin their journey to the Christ babe as soon as his star appears in the sky.

If one looks at the Magi story, the murder of innocents, and scripture regarding where they found Christ and who was present, their journey may have taken 3 yrs.

Advent is the perfect time for you to begin your journey to the Christ babe.

Deer Lodge is peaceful

Coffee good

1st Sunday in Advent

The man hung shelving in the office yesterday. He also had the copier serviced.

Got my bible study test completed. Then, tipped over a chocolate protein shake on it. Should be an interesting turn in on Tuesday night.

Yesterday I had the pleasure of thrift shopping. Crossville has several very nice ones. Good thing I am limited on cargo space for the trip back.

Bacci has an interesting ponder today…pg 486. “The dissipated soul is absorbed in many things and has no time to reflect on the eternal truths or to think of God and of spiritual progress. As a result, it is incapable of solid virtue, or if it achieves this for a while, it soon evaporates. God does not speak to the dissipated, but only to the recollected.”

I start home tomorrow. Please send up prayers for good weather, a safe trip, good roads. Also, ask St Francis to keep track of his animals and all guardian angels to watch over and guide their human.

Say a few special prayers for those who have dysfunctional families, alcohol, and drug issues to find peace as they traverse the holiday season.

Rinnè,TN  is peaceful and quiet

Sandra Day O’Connor died

Coffee, left over from last night’s convince store stop.

Arrived in Rinnè, TN for the night 24 hrs after I left home last night.  I’m staying in a Mennonite rooming house.  This simple little place can sleep 11 or more if needed. I have it to myself this weekend.  After the long drive, it fits the bill perfectly.

Yesterday, the 1st stop Goshen, IN, for breakfast at the Lux Cafe (very good food and wait staff). Then on to, 2- 2hr appointments. I slept while I waited.   Sunshine made the car toasty warm.

2nd stop Dunneville, TN, home of AndyEmma Miller.  (Beautiful homestead and leathershop.  I look forward to visiting this afternoon.) Dropped off Edna (her sister) and the items she brought along.

3rd stop Deer Lodge, TN, home of MiloKatie Hershberger to drop off MartinLydia, Ruby, LeRoy, Amanda R, and Amanda D.  We were greeted by deer grazing around 2 ponds.

Had to search for a Catholic church for Mass on Sunday.  I believe I have found one ( St. Mary’s) 35 miles away in Oak Ridge, TN 8am services.

It was an uneventful drive. Good roads, good weather, 18.1 gal average (30 gal tank) for the trip. 😊 (6 adults, 2 children (in carseats), a very full (canned goods) luggage compartment, and a hitch luggage carrier. Filled 1x in Goshen (3.05/gal), will need to fill again this morning (2.89/gal).
