Belated Birthday greetings to my nephew, Nathan, Happy 47th! Hope life in NY is treating you well.
St. Walter reminds us that honors and titles mean nothing if we don’t have our hearts and spirits set on God. Lord, teach me to strive for the honors and titles that please you and to use my power to fight injustice.
Meditations for Each Day, pg 109, The Christian Formation of Character. Our temperament is often a burden to ourselves and can at times be the source of annoyance to others. If we do nothing about it, it can be the cause of failings or of extremes of behaviour on our part, which we bitterly regret afterwards. It is necessary, therefore, to form character in accordance with Christian principles. Matthew 11:29b learn from me, for I am meek and humble of heart; and you will find rest for yourselves. I wonder why the underline hasn’t been stressed more?

The weekend was a good one. Reno in the kitchen is moving right along. I’m going to love the new ceiling when it’s finished. I’m always amazed at how even just a good paint job changes the way something looks. So fortunate I married a man who knows how to use a hammer.
