St Odo of Cluny demonstrates that compromise and negotiation are tools God offers to ensure peace among the nations. Prayer… “Father, let me never be so full of myself that I fail to consider the thoughts and opinions of others.”
Snippet of Family History… Jesse Packer… War of 1812… Captain Greene’s Virginia Militia… found his land papers. This man would be my Great-Great-Grandfather on my mother’s side. Now to find out who his father was.

Meditations for Each Day pg. 464: Have We Ever Abandoned Jesus? Are we faithful to Jesus only when everything is going well, when the cross is not too heavy, and when we are not too strongly tempted to sin?
Woke up to the sound of pounding around 3am. No one at the doors. It must have been some kind of dream, but I don’t remember having one. Of course, I could not fall back to sleep. Which led me to look out and see that it was raining, so I had to check the weather. Looks like it might be a bit slippery at 630 when I leave home. Lovely.
Found my Christmas stationery. Still looking for some Thanksgiving paper. Which reminds me that I need to get my letters out or they will never make it before hand. Perhaps later today I’ll find a chance to sit down and put pen to paper.
Know you are prayed for.
