Good Morning! Brrrr it is cold, temps continue to drop. Today we will do Mass across the street at 10, then hibernate the rest of the day in a warm house. There are letters to write, books to finish up, and weekly plans to lay out.
This morning I pulled out a book called “The Apostolate of Holy Motherhood” The NIHIL OBSTAT Monsignor Joseph P. Malara and the IMPRIMATUR Most Reverend Albert H Ottenweller, DD STL June 5, 1991. The book can be found online at different book thrift shops. The movement was announced on March 25, 1987, with three basic tenets 1) “…they must devote all their time, energy, and resources, including their very selves to the greater glory of God and the pursuit of the Divine Will in their lives; 2)”…they must be consecrated to My Most Holy Mother under the title of “Mother of God”; 3)”…They must seek to fulfill their daily duties, that is, as mothers and wives in an exemplary manner of holiness by pursuing the contemplative life in their homes…” I was intrigued by this book back in the day. I still frequently pull it off the shelf and read through its pages. It was the book that got me interested in “The Confraternity of Christian Mothers” which I later found to be a group our parish had been involved in for over 100 yrs. This book also became the foundation of an online private chat group called Catholic Motherhood. It can be found on Tapatalk but before you are allowed to come in you will receive an email asking you questions. These questions must be answered before you are given access to the group. In today’s world, motherhood isn’t considered a vocation; most times, it is considered a necessary imposition. Motherhood is a worthy, beautiful vocation. If you are being drawn to it take the plunge. Talk earnestly with your husband about your feelings and work together to accomplish your vocation. You will never regret it.
Know you are prayed for.
