Read Esther 2 and Job 13
Offer a prayer for MMc regarding clarity on his calling
Memory Verse – Colossians 3:12-13 – Put on then, as God’s chosen ones, holy and beloved, heartfelt compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience, 13 bearing with one another and forgiving one another, if one has a grievance against another; as the Lord has forgiven you, so must you also do.
As you read today about the Magi please note a couple of things 1) Joseph doesn’t appear to be present, 2) Jesus is a child, not an infant, 3) They are in a house, not a stable, 4) The Magi began their journey when the star appeared at the birth of Jesus. 5) An angel warns Joseph to flee with his family to Egypt. They remain there until Herod dies. If you go on to read vs 16 you will note Herold killed all the male children aged 2 (Murder of the Innocents) and younger. Doing this because of the time frame the Magi had told him about seeing the star. We do ourselves a disservice by shoving all these things into one small day instead of noting the time frame.
