Death is punishment for the sins of Adam & Eve. Baptism cleanses us from this original sin. Our free will allows us to accept or reject eternal life. Some yearn for death to escape/end their discouragements, suffering, or sinful natures in this life. The only legitimate yearning for death is the desire to be united at last with Jesus.
