Of course it is also that time to collect one’s thoughts and examine the past month. Time to find a confessional and get that job done… let’s talk about that. Why has it now become something, a job, to get done? Why isn’t there a burning in the soul because of fear of hell? Why is it suddenly just a job and not a passion. This unburdening of ones soul. This list of wrongs that need righting. This numerated list of defects that need correcting. Where is the anguish that used to be associated with wrongdoing? Read scripture readings and prayed and awaiting and open to the Holy Spirit to awaken in me anything He knows I need. I have come to a conclusion on a sin I need extra help with. Will take care of that. Sometimes with temptation, I need extra encouragement on my walk with God. That’s what we have friends, priests, and family for, to be God for us in little ways like that. Will go to confession this Sunday. I think that sometimes with temptation it’s smart to just walk away from it because of knowledge of our own weakness. We do not want to lead ourselves into sin by being so close to a tempting sin that we know would be too much for ourselves and we literally know we will sin. Knowledge of ourselves.
I’ve been quite the businessman, I don’t think businesswoman is a word, Lol, but so I’ve been given gifts of making extra money at this time. I thank God for his gifts to me. I am super happy to give of my gifts to Him thru tithing at my church. It’s my way of saying thanks and it’s sort of my duty too, as a catholic, is it?
