Wonderful time at the Kircher abode last evening. The food was outstanding and the conversation lively.
Have to run to E&E Sales this morning in Hillsboro with no other plans for the day. Looking forward to the down time. I’m certain the house could use a good cleaning and am also certain the good cleaning house fairy will not arrive to do it.
The Seven-Sister climbing rose is in full bloom! Beautiful pink clusters. The Spirea shrub is loaded with beautiful purple blooms. Yellow blooms are calling attention to the flowers by the pond and the orange day lilies hold their regal heads above them all.

In the Catholic Tradition we look at the 11th Station of the Eucharist… Bread of Life Discourse… John 6:48-56. After Jesus had fed the crowd it wasn’t long before they came asking him for more bread. It is this time he takes the time to reveal that no bread can give them life except the living bread (He himself in the Eucharist” He speaks calmly and forcefully so that we can have no doubt that the Eucharist is his actual “BODY & BLOOD”. Many of those who followed him walked away. They could not handle what he was telling them.
As I look at this scripture today I think of all the people who talk themselves into believing it is only a representation. No where did Jesus say it only represents his body he BOLDY & FORCEFULLY said… “my flesh is true food, and my blood is true drink. Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood remains in me and I in him” Perhaps in our human minds this is all too much and as did others we walk away from the truth about the Eucharist or perhaps we try to make it into a representation instead of what it actually is.
We humans think so much of ourselves that we fail to realize we are in the presence of God. That we hold on our tongues the real body and blood of Jesus Christ, 2nd person in the Trinity, Son of God-Son of Man. Who took our sins to the cross with him and paid our price for those sins. “Vanity of vanities… vanity of vanities; all is vanity… one generation passeth away, and another generation cometh…” and in those passed generations we (with satan’s help) have convinced ourselves of how important we are and of our high standing while we mock those of humble beginnings and humble hearts… those who know they are nothing in the presence of God.
So the next time you que up for the Eucharist and have failed to confess your sins, and you reach out your cupped hands while wearing your immodest/trashy clothing, think about who will be coming into you. That before you stands a consecrated priest holding the body & blood of Christ and you in your sinfulness are too important to kneel, too important to open your mouth and take him on your tongue, too important or at the least believe you hold equal standing… or sadly enough, the priest doesn’t give you opportunity to confess, kneel, and receive in this manner… THE BODY OF CHRIST.
Know you are prayed for.
