In the Catholic Tradition…The 7th Station of the Eucharist… House of Bread… Micah 5:2, Luke
Jesus was born in Bethlehem… literally means House of Bread… fulfilling a prophecy in Micah 5:2. A hundred years later we read in Luke of Jesus who was born in Bethlehem. Christ himself tells us he is the Living Bread from Heaven. Born in a town called the House of Bread, laid in a feeding trough, to be sacrificed for our salvation and giving us his flesh and blood to eat.
Very nice time up at St John’s Summit Ridge yesterday. 145 years of bringing the faith to the faithful. Our parish is small, a neighboring larger parish priest services us. For this we are grateful. Children enjoyed the games while adults enjoyed great conversation and all enjoyed fabulous food, especially the strawberry & ice cream sundaes.
“My past, O Lord,
to Your mercy;
my present,
to your love;
my future,
to your providence”
St. Padre Pio
I draw your attention to the above quote as I ask you if you have received the Sacrament of Confession of late. Are you concerned about how long it has been since the last one, or perhaps the sinfulness of the content you will share? Sometimes one just needs to bite the bullet and get it done. Then you promise yourself to keep it current so that you don’t distance yourself from God. I posted recently about the purchase of “The EXAMINATION Journal” do yourself a favor and get one or make one of your own, its an important tool. https://examinationjournal.com/ Then find a confessor and use him frequently to keep your soul in tune with God.
Know you are prayed for.
