Life in general is good

Wisconsin just can’t seem to let go of winter. This same thing happened back in 1973. By 0500 tomorrow morning our temps will have gone down to around 28°F. Hopefully the tulips and daffodils will not be to frozen.

Desk calendar prices finally went down so I bought a new one. It’s a fill in the month thing so it doesn’t matter that the year will change.

God is always ready to forgive and heal, the problem is “humans” are not. They allow their feelings to become involved. Back in the day we were not allowed to let feeling rules we were instructed in the good and the bad. Virtues & Vices We were encouraged to master the vices by practicing the virtue. Thinking of yourself got you nothing but trouble. Then some touchy feely “guru” came along and began showing how important it was for everyone to get intouch with themselves, to do what made them happy, to believe their happiness was best for them and to forget about others and what makes them happy. That’s where it all began. Even the disciples shortly after Christ’s resurrection and ascension found out how easy it was for people to push their happiness in front of community well being. Human nature is selfish, it is a fault, it is always just under the surface, waiting for an opportunity to raise it’s ugly head. I am horrible at putting others first, it is a daily struggle. Pray for me.

Today I remember my G’ma Katherine O and her second marriage to Richard M. May they both rest in peace.

Divine Mercy Sunday…St. Faustina

Today’s ponder from John Randolph…”The principle of liberty and equality, if coupled with mere selfishness, will make men only devils, each trying to be independent that he may fight only for his own interest. And here is the need of religion and its power, to bring in the principle of benevolence and love to men.

In my not so humble opinion this is where we as humans are today.

Know you are prayed for.

End of week is here

Thank you to those who extended birthday greetings. It was good to hear from you. If genetics run true, I have about 20 more years to give my opinions in the mornings… well actually any time of day.

From the sound of things, it looks like cooler temps are headed our way along with some rain and possibly snow by Monday. Normal temps for this neck of the woods.

I have a couple personal projects to complete. Hope to accomplish that by Monday.

Today is Friday within the Octave of Easter…we are still in the Easter season and will be until Pentecost on the 28th of May. The secular world has already moved past Easter and is focusing on Mother’s Day. Let’s focus on Divine Mercy Sunday the 16th of April.

On the 17th (Canadian feast day) let’s focus on St Kateri Tekakwitha. Sometimes our human desire for all things beautiful obscures things. Here in America, we celebrate her on the 14th of July. Kateri left America and moved to Canada because she refused to marry and was being given grief over that decision. She is the patroness of ecology and the environment, people in exile and Native Americans.

Remembering my G’daughter Charity who was killed in Kenya this date in 2022. May she rest in peace. St Lydwina (feast day today) patroness of young people whose careers are cut short pray for her.

Know you are prayed for.

04.04.2023 Voting Day in WI

Coffee passable

Today in WI we vote for supreme court judge. IMNSHO the only choice is Daniel Kelly the other person way too “woke” and liberal for me. Aside from that, way too much money is being thrown around on this election; as well as too many ugly/insinuating commercials, etc. WI needs to look at its laws and make changes. It is time to look at campaign rules and regulations and make changes there as well.

Remembering James F.H born on this day in 1881 may he RIP

The man is in IA this week.

My schedule is fairly easy.

Copywork completed

Beginning a new book today. Hopefully, it will be a good one. Need to run the finished ones back to the library when I go to vote this morning.

Let’s look at Peter & Judas today. Peter betrayed our Lord by denying he knew him. Judas betrayed our Lord by selling him out for monetary gain. Peter wept when he realized what he had done, he accepted Christ’s mercy and kept the faith. Judas realized what he did was wrong, and returned his monetary gain, but instead of seeking Christ’s mercy he ran away and killed himself. So they both betrayed Christ, both knew they had sinned, one sought mercy, and the other gave into despair killing himself. I have pondered this part of scripture for many years. Again and again I return to it wondering and thinking if only Judas…

But you see, each of us has to make that decision. Each of us must say our own “YES” to Christ and his mercy. It is not in anyone else’s hands. Each of us must make the decision to follow Christ, practice our faith, and become an intimate friend of Christ to reach eternal life. It is not enough to recognize we shoulda, coulda. We must repent, act, and sustain. Time is short.

Know you are prayed for.

Coffee, should have been tea as first choice

The man still sleeps, glad for that, once again he did too much yesterday

Typical Monday happening for me today. Hope to be home by 5 or sooner. Heard Madison got a 10″ snow dump, weatherman says snow is possible here Tuesday, hopefully it will go around us,my tulips are coming up and I’d love to see them this year.

The photo below are daffodils for my friend Mary, who mentioned them a while back.

Happy Birthday to my eldest son, Michael. WOW! that went by fast…see you later in the week.

Today in scripture, we reading about Jesus writing in the dirt. John 8:8…lots of speculation about what exactly he did write that caused all those stone throwers to drop them and disappear. My focus is what this did for Mary Magdalene. There she was, standing with a circle of holy men wanting to throw stones at her. Jesus steps into her life, and she stands waiting for condemnation… poof! …that is all it takes… Jesus makes a difference. After, mind you, after the threat of death has left, Jesus then says, “sin no more.” Simply stop doing what you were doing, and from this day forward, don’t do it again.

All she had to do was “stop” the sin period. Start a new way of living. She already knew it would be hard. She already knew the road ahead would take time, energy, pain, heartache, and more. She made one step after another moving forward with Jesus to make that change. She didn’t deny she had a past, she didn’t pretend the past wasn’t there. She simply moved forward. That was/is faith. Each of us can do this with our focus on Christ.

Know you are prayed for.

God chose you…

“God doesn’t choose us because we are confident, he calls us because we are capable of what he calls us to do.”

Just as the sun rises each day, we have the chance to do what God calls us to do. He brings us opportunities to glean what we will need to continue doing his work. We can rise each day in confidence, know what we need for the day will be there when we need to use it.

All we have to do is say yes to his call, listen for his instructions, and see what he has placed before us. Accept the road we are on may not, probably will not be smooth, straight, or short.
