Coffee excellent

Wonderful surprise last evening DD#5 and husband came up from Oklahoma for her 21st birthday (tomorrow) and Valentine Day. Best surprise!

The spring bulb pot is finished (changed pots). Did I mention I am rooting sweet potatoes for the vines, and a avacado pit to grow a tree. Hopefully it will all happen.

Red hearts still need cutting out, about half finished. Making valentines.

The recent snow melt has gotten me a bit excited about the patio again. I have this vision in my head of a nice flower filled spot to drink morning coffee and watch the sunrise. I am so ready for spring. In actuality, it is more beautiful in my mind than it will ever be in real life.

Then there’s my old friend, the front porch, that gives me a spot to watch the world go by as well as providing a prayer space to hear the bells of Sacred Heart three times a day while praying the Angelus. The big wicker chair is a perfect spot to pray the Rosary, wave from to passersby, or watch the birds. I wish I had known years ago about the importance of a quiet spot in this hectic place called life.

Roses from DD#5 sit on top the home altar that’s cluttered with candles, lists, photos, statues, and scripture. My winter quiet spot that does not see enough of my time or attention.

Coffee tastes and smells wonderful this morning.

Friday has finally arrived. Seems like it was a long time coming this week.

Pray for… dd#3: sobriety, dd#4: special intention, the souls of the faithfully departed in my family, the return of my children to the faith, the baptism and faith instruction of my g’children, health, wellness, and critical thinking for my college g’children.

Catechism in a year continues.

The weather predicted didn’t show up. I PTL for that! Am honestly so done with winter. Hopefully, the sun will shine through the weekend.

Have an awesome day! Take another look at your New Year’s resolutions, don’t give up.

Coffee good. The man has eye appointment @ 8am. I’m 🏡 for a bit this morning. Copy jobs finished.

Georgia approved permanent bann on COVID 19 vaccine passport.

So Biden acknowledged his error in judgment regarding the abandonment of fossil fuels. So what’s he going to do to fix the things he’s done that have stopped production and complicated efforts?

How goes the Catechism study? I am finding it very interesting. Lots of things I hadn’t given thought too.

Watchable Reading? Terminal Freeze by Lincoln Child’s for me.

Today’s ponder… Mark 4-6

Coffee good, breakfast is too

Sounds like weather is coming in tonight. After all, it is Wisconsin.

Wonderful class last evening at the Cashton Library. Firefly did a great job teaching us about bulb planting in containers. They were very generous in supplying everything we needed at no cost to the participants. It is things like this that make small Village life good.

Have an awesome day

The Lucky Ones Live in WI… author unknown

The United States is the land of my birth
The strongest and wealthiest country on earth
But the states aren’t all equal, I’m sorry to say
Wisconsin’s the pick of the fifty today.
I like Virginia, Montana, and Maine
But it’s here in Wisconsin I proudly remain
With walleyes and fish fries and hot apple pie
And the Badgerland motto: “Eat cheese or die!”
We’ve got forests and prairies, Breweries and dairies
Skiing on earth, skiing on snow
From Big Bend to Bayfield, Potosi to Plainfield
The Lucky ones live in Wisconsin!
Arizona’s too dry, Colorado’s too high
In Alaska you’ll freeze, In Georgia you’ll fry
Hawaii is so distant, it’s barely existent
California is crumbling, let’s all wave good-bye
Nevada’s too empty, the deserts don’t tempt me
In Kansas the forest, one lonesome tree
New York’s an anthill, a flesh and blood landfill
Too many lawyers run loose in DC
We’ve got silos and steeples
And down to earth peoples
Holsteins a plenty and Jerseys galore
From Lone Rock to Lena, New Glarus to Neenah
The Lucky ones live in Wisconsin!
Minnesota and Michigan, are our friends
We get along fine with people next door
Illinois on the other hand, We couldn’t recommend
It’s flat as a pancake, spoiled to the core
The flatlanders visit us year after year
The root of the White Sox
They frighten our livestock
We hide all the children whenever they’re here
We’ve got sweetcorn and bratwurst
Chicago a lot worse
Our cheddar is better, our butter’s the best
From Monroe to Milwaukee, Waupun to Wausaukee
The Lucky ones live in Wisconsin!
Oh, we love Wisconsin… It’s winter you know
With gentle breezes blowing
Seventy miles per hour at fifty-two below
Oh, how we love Wisconsin, snow up to our rears
To breathe is a delight, with nostrils frozen tight
Yes, winter here is wonderful, we cannot leave
We’re stuck to the ground, frozen solid like trees
The lucky ones live in Wisconsin!

Coffee good, of course the man made it.

St. RICHARD is the father of 3 saints who preached the gospel in Germany. He had a special veneration for the Holy Family. He went on pilgrimage to Rome and died in Lucca on his way back. He is buried there in the Basilica of San Frediano.

Odd dream filled night making for sleepless night.  The man will be home this morning.  I have a short day, plan to keep it that way.

No coffee… no breakfast will have both later.

Today’s ponder… “If you want to impact the course of a life… start at birth.”
