Vertigo back, the man doing my morning pick up and drop off.

Have I told you about the author I’m reading, Candace Simar? She has a series “Abercombie Trail” that I am reading. It speaks to the Souix (Minnesota) Uprising of 1862. Something I learned nothing of in history class while in school. Probably because it happened during the Civil War, which our teacher spent weeks on. They were published in 2010, and I hope the entire series can be found.

I also have author Lydia Taiwo “A Broken Childhood” on my to read list.

Got word last night my dgd Haley will receive her 1st Holy Communion on May 7th.

Have an awesome day

Lots of snow happening in California. Here in WI, their snowfall would be close to a normal event. We have the equipment to move that stuff. As well as the clothing to keep warm. We drive in it so often and have snow recreation vehicles that stranded doesn’t happen as often.

Life is like that. What you have experienced in the past helps the decisions of the future. May your future be based in Christ and the tools you use be from him.

We’re not getting any younger. In fact, most days aging seems to be coming at a rapid pace regardless of what one does to slow it down. So, in all reality death although not on your doorstep may be waiting in the wings. Have you let anyone know how you want things done? Have you filled out the necessary forms to make life easier on your descendants? Have you planned your funeral? Purchased your cemetery plot? Ordered your headstone? Made out your will? Have you sorted your belongings? Gone thru the attic and returned items that belong to your children? Sorted the Christmas/Easter/Valentine/etc decorations? What about your book collection? Your mother’s dishes? Your father’s tools?

I’ve been told many of today’s young adults don’t want their parents belonging, much less have to sort thru them. Do the sorting yourself. Give it to them and let them decide for themselves. Let them throw it out, sell it, and give it away. After all, in the end, it will be theirs to fight over (and trust me they will) once you are gone.

Collect all your websites, passwords, etc. Close out the old ones and note the day you did it. There are some really ideal little booklets out there where you can record all those things. I’m about halfway thru and have come to realize how tedious it is to get this done. Those family history papers, get them in order, fill out, and collated. Nothing worse than having to figure out someone else’s idea of how to file things (all thrown into one box free for all).

For goodness sake empty your medicine cabinet, bedside drawers, and bathroom bins. All that half-used, outdated crap needs to go. No one will use already been used stuff. That’s like chewing all ready been chewed gum.

Your closet…if you haven’t worn it get rid of it. There are plenty of resale/thrift shops out there. Let’s get realistic.

Now that craft room, really all those bins? Even if you were 20 you’d never use it all. Gift it to someone who will.

Your journals, are you sure you want your children and grandchildren reading them? Do they hold information you want to be passed on? Or was it venting? Do you want them to read your vent? Do you want a stranger reading them?

Nuff on that subject.

How’s Lent going? We’re into the 2nd week.

Unfortunately, Daylight Saving Time begins on Sunday. What a waste of energy. Most who know me know I feel this way. Utter failure at the original intent. Well, that is if you believe what they said. Personally, I believe it was an attempt to control. In that area, it was successful for the most part. In another area, it got people divided.

No coffee this morning… sigh

Copy work being done as I type. Lovin’ this machine I received for Christmas. Makes life easier.

The man is off to CEW (Christian Experience Weekend) I wonder how many years that’s been going. He’s done this for so long I just don’t count on him the first weekend in March of every year. It’s a good thing.

Today I am off to resale/thrift shops. Who knows what might call my name.

Matthew 5:44-48

But I say to you, Love your enemies: do good to them that hate you: and pray for them that persecute and calumniate you: 45 That you may be the children of your Father who is in heaven, who maketh his sun to rise upon the good, and bad, and raineth upon the just and the unjust.46 For if you love them that love you, what reward shall you have? do not even the publicans this? 47 And if you salute your brethren only, what do you more? do not also the heathens this? 48 Be you therefore perfect, as also your heavenly Father is perfect.

I figured Lent would eventually come around to this; let’s get defined.

ENEMY: 1)a person who is actively opposed or hostile to someone or something. “the traditional enemies of his tribe” 2) hostile nation or its armed forces or citizens, especially in time of war. “the enemy shot down four helicopters”
3) a thing that harms or weakens something else.

LOVE: noun 1.an intense feeling of deep affection.”babies fill parents with feelings of love”
2.a great interest and pleasure in something.”his love for football”
verb 1.feel deep affection for (someone). “he loved his sister dearly”
2.like or enjoy very much. “I just love dancing”

Yep, just what I figured, he wants us all in, regardless of the past, regardless of everything. I used to think all it took was saying “I forgive you.” or “I’m sorry for my part in this” and then just move on to that place where one isn’t openly hostile or mean. I’ve come to find out this isn’t what he means. He wants me all in. I fail, I fail to pray to succeed at it. I fail to want to even consider doing it. I fail, period. My mind says you wouldn’t ask me this if you really knew what they had done. One problem, he really does know because I’ve done it to him and at times said oops, Jesus forgive me. Countless times he has forgiven me for the very things I fail to forgive them for. More work needs to be done by me. Nothing is impossible, it just might take longer and harder work.

Fantastic sleep last night. Best I’ve had in ages

Hoping for an uneventful day.

Lent is a time to get yourself right, not only with God but with others. It doesn’t matter if others don’t accept your effort to make it right. What matters is your sincerity and that God knows you tried. You have control over no one but yourself, get yourself right. Matthew 5:24

Yes, yes it is true…

This is my “I TOLD YOU SO” regarding the HPV vaccine. Thank God, I listened to my gut when doctor offices were haraunging parents of 12 yr and older to do this. Nanananah…your “I’m sorry, I thought you were stupid” can be posted in comments.

Village peaceful.

Amish crew working on old co-op tower.  Looking forward to seeing what Maple Valley has in store for that old building.  I’m hoping they consider open air  farmer’s market vendors under that canopy on Front Street. It is truly a selfish want of mine as it is so close to home. One can still wish.

Sugar shacks are cooking.  I can taste that new maple syrup by just closing my eyes.  Nothing compares to it.

Stoves have been fired up in the greenhouses.  Seeding trays are being set up.  Won’t be long now.

The snow has begun to melt again.  Rain is called for on the weekend with a good chance of warmer temps.

Wasn’t long ago I showed my spring bulb, sweet potato, and avocado pit rootings, will post what they look like now shortly.

The man is off to Iowa this weekend, doing his annual CEW weekend.

Home today after some pick ups and drop offs till shortly after 3. My copy jobs have been completed. Dishes are done. Bed is made. The floors could use some work.

This is my pray day on the Catholic Moms board. Should anyone have requests, be sure to let me know.
