Question… do you pray? how often? is it built-in habit or only if you remember? Do you stop what you are doing at a specific time to pray? Do you pray with the church bells? When you pass a church? When you pass a cemetery? When you hear/see an ambulance, firetruck, or police car? Do you pray before and after meals? Do you pray in a restaurant? Do you pray when you hear someone is ill, has died, or has been injured? Do you pray in thanksgiving or in want? Do you pray for others and yourself? Do you pray for friends or enemies? Do you pray to find something? Do you pray to be able to pray? Do you pray to forgive someone? yourself?
Have you heard about Matthew 6:9-13? (Douay-Rheims version)
Thus therefore shall you pray: Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. 10 Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
11 Give us this day our supersubstantial bread. 12 And forgive us our debts, as we also forgive our debtors. 13 And lead us not into temptation. But deliver us from evil. Amen. 14 For if you will forgive men their offences, your heavenly Father will forgive you also your offences. 15 But if you will not forgive men, neither will your Father forgive you your offences.
[11] “Supersubstantial bread”: In St. Luke the same word is rendered daily bread. It is understood of the bread of life, which we receive in the Blessed Sacrament.
[13] “Lead us not into temptation”: That is, suffer us not to be overcome by temptation.
